The key to a solid break shot is applying just the right amount of force. If I’m remembering my high school physics correctly, the way you calculate force is by multiplying the mass of the object by the acceleration. This hefty break cue weighs in at 25oz, which is a good 5oz heavier than average playing cue. This extra weight adds to the cue’s overall mass, thereby increasing its capacity for force.
Alright, was that enough nerd talk? Basically, the extra weight in this cue makes it a powerful breaker for any kind of pool player. It has a stealthy matte black finish and an extra-long black nylon wrap and the 29” maple shaft features a black phenolic ferrule and a hard pressed leather tip. Like every Action cue, it comes with a 1 year manufacturer warranty.

great look that matches my McDermott SL07 spot on. Perfect weight and feel in hand for breaking. I got an extra hard tip upgrade that’s took a few breaks before I really got used to the feel of the strike. Would get the tip again but just felt a little different at first. For the cost, you can’t beat it! If your breaking with something lighter than a 25oz., you’ll be amazed at how little effort it takes to get that ball dropping break your used to working hard for.

My two main sticks were stolen, unfortunately, so in order to play I needed something quick but wanted to keep the investment for a new stick low, this was an absolute great buy, Feels even better than my old breaking stick, the breaks ive had with this stick blow my mind compared to my past stick, the butt feels terrific in the hand and the weight, is just perfect for me, which leads to any game in which I get to break being a guaranteed win. The delivery was much faster than I expected and the packing made me feel confident about the sticks not having any warping or dings. Wish I would have forked up for a tip upgrade, but it’s amazing as is. 10/10 will purchase from pooldawg again.

For the price, hard to find any negatives
To replace my stolen break cue, I didn’t want to fork up $300+ like I did the last time, This is honestly better than the McDermott(Don’t know what pool cue it was model-wise but it was similar to the NG05 on pooldawgs site) that I had. The smooth butt doesn’t lead to me having to get it rewrapped every few months, and after a tip upgrade, every game I break with this stick is amazing, constant 8 and 9 ball pockets off the break which just blew my mind, as I’ve only had a handful with my old cue. For being an Action stick which I always apprehensive about, I completely did a 180, its a terrific cue, whether your new looking to get your first or replace an old one cheaply. Its worth it and more. The shipment was fast and packaged so properly, Ill be buying from pooldawg from now on.

Beat out more expensive break cues for top break speed average
Honestly, i out it head to head with five other break cues using the predator speed app, including a $500 break cue and a $300 break cue stick. My break speed averages around 16.5 mph with nearly every other stick, but this cue was the run away winner at almost 18 mph. After hundreds of breaks recorded, all my top speeds were with this cue stick and this is the only cue stick that I ever broke 19 mph with. It is a great cue. I have used phenolic and other hard tips but this leather tip had the top-notch feel by far, and actually holds chalk for those that break from the side. Also, the listing says the weight cannot be adjusted, but that is not true. The weight bolt can come out – I think it went down to 17.5 ounces and had a 7 ounce weight bolt. I messed around with it at the lighter weight and it still contact well, and even with a compatible 5 ounce weight bolt I have, but it contact best at the full 24.5 ounce weight. It says 25 but I think they error on the lower side to meet league standard maximum weights. You can’t make it heavier but you could buy weights to make it lighter. But don’t bother.

Great cue for the cost
Really content with this cue. It took a couple of days to get a feel for it, but it definitely improves the overall spread and number of pocketed balls off a break. I’ve had friends try it too and they’ve had similar results. I also had the tip upgraded to the tiger break and the technician at pooldawg did a fantastic job. The cue looks simple but excellent. I also like the extended wrap that goes down to the end of the pool cue.

Without a doubt, this stick is heavy. I went for the ‘ samsara ‘ jump/break ‘ tip option. I have the same tip on two revo shafts. This cue was recommended by Poolometry. What’s different is I play with the samsara tip on my playing cue. So I wanted a big breaker and a cue I could also use for playing if I chose to. As a breaker it’s solid. It’s not a Mezz Power G but it’s affordable. I like this cue. I break with amazing care. Technique is key for me. I don’t use a breaker like a sledge hammer but you could with this cue.

this is an excellent entry-level breaking cue stick and I enjoy the grip and the weight. My only complaint with the stick is that the wood upper half was clearly left in direct sunlight and the wood is bleached on one side which is a little less than aesthetically pleasing.
