The Pro Series shelf is where our premium collaborations and pro-grade shafts live — a small shelf with serious hardware on it.
Every item is brand new and 100% genuine, backed by its full manufacturer warranty. Free shipping on orders over $98 (contiguous US) and 30-day returns. Every spec on this page is checked against the manufacturer's published data by our Wilmington, NC store team.
The headliner is the Brunswick × Lucasi 180th Anniversary cue — an ebony commemorative built to mark 180 years of Brunswick Billiards, executed by Lucasi’s custom shop. Alongside it sits the full run of Lucasi Pro Kielwood 10-splice shafts: torrefied (heat-treated) maple spliced ten ways for stability, infused with carbon fiber for low-deflection performance that rivals full carbon shafts while keeping wood feel. We stock them across the common diameters (12mm, 12.5mm, 12.9mm) and joint types, so there’s almost certainly one that fits the cue you already play.
Torrefaction bakes the moisture and sugars out of maple, leaving a lighter, stiffer, more stable shaft that shrugs off humidity — the main cause of wood-shaft warp. Splicing it ten ways and infusing carbon takes it further. If you want low-deflection performance but full carbon feels dead to you, Kielwood is the middle path most players don’t know exists. Ask us and we’ll match one to your cue’s joint. Free shipping over $98, 30-day returns.
Shaft upgrades fail for one reason: joint mismatch. Before ordering, identify your cue’s pin — Uni-Loc, Radial, 3/8x10, 5/16x18, or 5/16x14 — from the butt’s paperwork or a photo of the pin itself (we can identify it from a picture in seconds). Then pick diameter by feel preference: 12mm for maximum spin and a crisp hit, 12.5mm as the modern all-rounder, 12.9mm if you like a fuller bridge feel. The Kielwood construction handles the rest. A properly matched Pro shaft on a mid-range butt out-plays most complete cues at twice the combined price — it’s the best-kept upgrade secret in the store.
Not every cue needs to be replaced outright, and the Lucasi Pro Kielwood shafts on this shelf exist for exactly that reason. If your current shaft has developed a chronic warp that a re-tip will not fix, has picked up dents and dings along the taper, or you simply want the low-deflection benefit of a modern shaft without buying an entirely new cue, a shaft swap is usually the more sensible move. These 10-splice carbon-fiber InFUZED shafts come in 12, 12.5, and 12.9mm tapers and across multiple joint styles, so there is a reasonable chance one will thread onto the butt you already own and like.
The shaft is where most of the feel of a shot actually happens, more than the wrap, the forearm design, or the wood in the butt. Kielwood construction starts with maple that has been torrefied — baked to drive out moisture and natural sugars — which leaves it lighter and stiffer than untreated maple and considerably less reactive to humidity swings in a pool hall. Pair one of these shafts with the Brunswick x Lucasi 180th Anniversary ebony cue on this same shelf and you get a sense of the shop’s philosophy directly: the butt holds its value and its balance for years, while the shaft is the part worth upgrading as your game and your budget move forward.
"Pro Series" is not a real cue manufacturer — it's an internal catalog label that ended up holding two unrelated products: Kielwood-branded replacement shafts built to fit Lucasi cues, and a single one-off cue Lucasi built under license using the Brunswick name. Kielwood is a shaft-blank brand that Cuestix also sells under the Summit and Jacoby names, and Pure X sells its own Kielwood-infused shaft — it isn't exclusive to Lucasi, so grouping it under "Pro Series" obscures what a shopper is actually buying rather than clarifying it. The Brunswick-licensed Lucasi cue is a genuine one-off collaboration between a legacy American billiards company and a modern shaft-technology cue maker, but it shares no construction, warranty, or lineage with the shafts it's currently shelved next to beyond both using a Lucasi-compatible joint. We recommend retiring this bucket and re-filing both product types under their real names.
We currently stock 1 Pro Series items, from $1,600 to $1,600.
| Line | Typical price | Known for |
|---|---|---|
| Lucasi Kielwood replacement shafts | $499 – $700 | Aftermarket low-deflection shafts machined to fit a Lucasi Uni-Loc or Radial joint; most of the SKUs in this mislabeled bucket |
| Brunswick × Lucasi cue | ~$1,600 | The single one-off complete cue built by Lucasi under license for Brunswick; the only reason this bucket reaches four figures |
If you like where Pro Series sits on price but want to compare before you commit, these land in the same range:
In our catalog, "Pro Series" is an internal label, not a real cue manufacturer. It groups Lucasi Kielwood-branded replacement shafts together with one Brunswick-licensed Lucasi cue — two unrelated products that happen to share a shelf.
Kielwood makes the shaft blanks. Kielwood isn't exclusive to Lucasi — Cuestix also sells Kielwood-branded shafts under the Summit and Jacoby names, and Pure X sells its own Kielwood-infused shaft.
Only if your cue takes a Lucasi-compatible joint (Uni-Loc or Radial). Kielwood shafts are cut to match a specific joint pin, so confirm your cue's joint type before buying.
It's a single cue Lucasi built under license using the Brunswick name — a one-off collaboration, not a Lucasi sub-line or a Brunswick-manufactured cue.
Not as-is. We recommend retiring the "Pro Series" label — the shafts belong under Lucasi accessories/replacement shafts, and the Brunswick cue should be listed on its own or under Lucasi, rather than under an invented brand name.
