Good for sharpening your aim and concentration
I have a Brunswick table with 5” really friendly pockets all around. The pocket pros reduce the size of each pocket to 3 1/2 inches. In my opinion the best way to use them is to either put in only one pocket pro and shoot into that pocket from many different places or set up a series of balls on paper holes and only put in the pocket pros on the necessary pockets and shoot the series over and over. Again in my opinion putting all of them in and trying to play a game would only be frustrating and counter productive. If you do the exercises I outlined you WILL find your accuracy increasing but you will need to do it often if you want the improvement to last. Do the exercises before a match until you are making the balls consistently.

Practice pro pocket reducers
They work really great at making the pockets considerably smaller and makes you really focus on the shot. No slamming them in for sure. It will help your stroke out to as in being consistent draw back I see is the way they install in the pockets. The hinges sit up above the pockets and this causes 2 problems. First is I have drop pockets and you have little room to get the balls out. Second, they get in the way when shooting certain shots if you need to bridge your hand over the pocket are where they are installed. They are made really nicely and very high tension on the springs, so no worries about them moving on you or coming out of the pockets.

My understanding of where to hit the OB is already improving. This is work and sometimes frustrating but has a big payoff in improved skils. Recommended.

Good to practice with tighter pockets
I enjoy a better game when the pockets are harder to make. The only thing I had problems with this product was the side pockets kept slipping out. I have a really expensive table cloth that’s stretched tight and the springs would not hold on the pockets. No matter where I set the reducer in the side when it was hit the reducer would fly out. Sometimes it would just fly out on its own. I gave up and removed the side pocket reducers. It does make you learn to shoot for the center of the pockets each shot.

I don’t have experience with any other brand of pocket reducer, however I can recommend you try these out. They work wonders on the accuracy of your game. They can get in the way of your shots at times, but they are so easy to put in and take out that it is really no big deal.

Diamond Rattle Reduction
The pocket reducers are great. Easy to put in and simple to take out. I often practice on a table built for occasional players and then compete on Diamond tables. The pocket reducers help me rattle around the pockets a lot less on the Diamonds Money well spent.

Great practice tool
Just got a set of these. My table has pretty wide pockets which makes it fun for the average player. But when I play league games the pockets a 1/4 to 1/2 inch smaller. These make the pockets tighter than most and are reliable to increase accuracy. They stay put. They do change the angle of the pocket sides so balls will bounce out and not deflect into the pocket. This just makes it tougher which is the point. Another thing that should be obvious but was not is that the spring that sticks up makes shooting out of the corner difficult to impossible. Not a problem for practice time but didn’t think about this until I started using them. They do make you sharpen your aim and I do recommend them.

I bought this purchase for my friends that had recently bought a used pool table. THEY HATED IT AT FIRST! Now they appreciate the purchase for when they practice on a tough table at home… it makes pocketing balls seem easy when they play league pool or in tournaments. Not meant for bangers
I have to say, i give these 4 stars. As they are a little clumsy to get in place. Very stiff as expected. These are meant to get your tempo slowed and Stoke straight. I read the lower reviews and can say they used them foe the wrong reasons. If you want to improve your aim point aim center pocket for the shot with these. I make sharp degree cuts with these installed as I dont try to BANG the balls in the pocket. League players believe me your not that good to discount the use this actually has in improving your aim and stroke. Dont poke pop or punch it will rattle out, use them right and they will help. 1. Pro pocket reducers. 40.00 2. Redo your rails with increased facing width reducing your pocket opening. When you redo your table next time. 75.00 + normal cloth replacement 3. Order pro cut pocket 4.25 rails from penguin for valley table… Or jave your rails built up to 4.25 with new sub-rail… Couple hundred dollars + cost of new cloth install. These do work with the right intent and purpose in mind while TRAINING. Comment sense people. These are great.

Was quite frustrated for a couple days trying to make shots with the pocket reducer after a couple days dayslater I was making shots 1 after the other I practice with it till I got confident then I went to the American Legion we have a pool tournament every Sunday and I took first place there were 17 participants I was quite pleased I shoot on a regulation table at home 8 ft but the table at the legion is 7 ft the angles entering the pocket are a lot more narrow on a 7 ft table then on 8 ft table the pocket reducers made the difference

What a great purchase. My pockets went from 4 3/4″ to 3 1/4″ which is tighter then I’ve ever seen the pros use. The tightest I’ve ever seen the pros use is 4″. I use these for 8 hard hrs. Force concentration
Truthfully, these pocket reducers work as advertised. They force more concentration on every shot. Removing them make the pockets feel huge. The only drawback is that they hinder cueing over the pocket. But all this does is force you to jack up occasionally. This only further forces the shots to play more difficult (which is the main purpose of the reducers in the first place). I would highly vouch for the pocket reducers for anyone serious about improving their game.

Diagnostic tool for stroke mechanics improvement
I must admit, excellent for what I perceive as the way to use the item; to help correct mechical flaws that will show up when repeatedly shooting longer straight-in shots. There is no need to plug all six pockets, not sure what that would accomplish. Pocket rebounds with a missed shot are most unusual and will never mimic a real game. They close my corner pockets to three inches straight on. Cut shots play even tighter. Josh Filler does not pocket to such a standard. Top-notch used as a mechanical training aid to observe your faults on longer straight-in shots. And for that, they are excellent. Pocket a straight in ball from a five or six diamond distance and you have delivered a fine stroke.

Durable training tool for improvement.
I bought these pocket reducers in hopes that they would help improve my ball pocketing accuracy. The first several times I attempted to use them was very frustrating for me as I wasn’t pocketing balls like I normally would. With consistent use of the reducers which force cleaner pocketing and more focus/concentration I felt that my stroke was smoother and ball pocketing was cleaner after the reducers came out.

These are completely unforgiving! Nothing sneaks past these bad boys. I’ve been practicing with the reducers on for about 30 hours now and the difference is measurable. It forces me to play my best and not shoot sloppy. What I kept saying after I shot was REEEEJECTED!!!! I was totally used to 5″ pockets and my League plays on 4 1/2″ Diamonds. Now, I play on 3 1/2″ pockets and my accuracy is definitely improving in a big way. .
