Description

The Triple 60 Wood Grain Carbon Fiber Playing Shaft pairs carbon fiber construction with a proprietary wood grain finish. Viking lists Dual-Core construction, Micro-Compression technology and a Multi-Density Fill for the shaft.

The finish includes a protective coating, and Viking points out that players who want the smooth, bare carbon feel should consider the Whyte Carbon raw shaft instead, or wear a glove. Standard specifications are a Kamui Clear Original Soft tip, a white ferrule, Whyte standard flex, rear balance, a 29 inch length and a weight of 3.95 ounces, which can vary with the adapter used and its age.

The joint insert is selected from 14 styles, from Viking Quick Release and Radial to several 3/8 and 5/16 thread patterns. Viking cannot guarantee that a new shaft will fit an existing butt because of manufacturing tolerances, and the shaft carries a limited lifetime warranty.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Triple 60 Wood Grain Carbon Fiber Playing Shaft comes with a Carbon Fiber shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Triple 60 Wood Grain Carbon Fiber Playing Shaft built for?

It is set up as a playing cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

Is Quarter King an authorized Whyte Carbon dealer?

Yes. We are an authorized Whyte Carbon dealer, so this cue is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty against warpage and defects in workmanship. Warranty claims go through us — you do not have to deal with the factory yourself.
