A good cue is a decade-plus investment — if you treat it right. Six habits cover 95% of cue care; the steps below take minutes a week.
The Six Habits
Wipe the shaft down after play, case the cue between sessions, keep it away from heat and humidity, maintain the tip’s shape and surface, use alcohol (never abrasives) on carbon shafts, and replace tips before they fail. That’s the whole religion.
What Ruins Cues
Cars in summer. Corners of damp garages. Leaning against walls for a month. Breaking with a soft playing tip. Every warped cue we see traces to one of these.
When to Bring It In
Tip replacement, ferrule work, or anything that changes the hit — bring it by the shop. And when you are ready to upgrade, we stock every level and take trade-ins toward credit. Protect the one you have with a proper case.
