Description

This second HC08 Shorty Cue from Energy by Players runs slightly longer than its sibling model and carries a small step up in price, landing at about $90 rather than the entry point of the shorter version. The build otherwise matches the family: a black finish and a 13.00mm classic wood shaft, the same shaft diameter Energy uses throughout its cue collection so the feel stays familiar to anyone who has used another Energy model. Shorty cues like this one are aimed at players working in tighter spaces, or anyone who wants a compact stick for a camper, boat, or apartment table where a full-length cue is impractical. It is a functional, no-frills option rather than a display piece, priced accordingly. Stock is currently available for this length.

Questions about this cue

What shaft diameter is the Energy By Players HC08 Shorty Cue?

This cue ships with a 13.00mm shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Energy By Players HC08 Shorty Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Energy By Players HC08 Shorty Cue built for?

It is set up as a playing cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

Is Quarter King an authorized Energy dealer?

Yes. We are an authorized Energy dealer, so this cue is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty against warpage and defects in workmanship. Warranty claims go through us — you do not have to deal with the factory yourself.

How fast does it ship, and can I return it?

Shipping is free on orders over $98 in the contiguous US, $5.50 flat otherwise, and you get tracking as soon as it moves. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unchalked, unused product — contact us first for a return authorization so it is credited without delay.
