Blue-stained curly maple on a wrapless handle and an eight-point blue, black and natural design define the K2 KL181 low deflection pool cue. A 12.5 mm Tiger Everest tip sits on a 29-inch maple shaft, with 11.75 mm as the alternative size, and the Uni-Loc quick-release joint splits the cue for transport. Four weights from 18 to 21 oz mean you can order the feel you prefer.

Description

Blue and natural maple meet in the K2 KL181, an eight-point low deflection pool cue with a wrapless handle. It is a fit for players who want Tru Path shaft performance, a Tiger Everest tip and a Uni-Loc quick-release joint in a cue that leans toward colour rather than plain black.

Its 29-inch K2 maple shaft ends in a 12.5 mm Tiger Everest tip, and 11.75 mm is also available. The wrapless area is stained blue in a curly maple design. Under the handle, a 2 mm black butt plate and a compression bumper close the butt, and the collar is 10 mm of matte black Implex. Tru Path is the K2 name for the shaft’s low-deflection design, which is meant to keep cue-ball squirt down.

The eight points alternate between black and blue against a natural forearm and butt sleeve. Blue leads the colour list, followed by black and natural. Weight is your call: 18, 19, 20 or 21 oz, set at checkout, so the cue can match the one you already like.

Questions about this cue

What joint does the K2 KL181 Low Deflection Pool Cue use?

It uses a Uni-Loc joint. That means any Uni-Loc shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against Uni-Loc before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

What shaft diameter is the K2 KL181 Low Deflection Pool Cue?

This cue ships with a 11.75mm, 12.50mm shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The K2 KL181 Low Deflection Pool Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the K2 KL181 Low Deflection Pool Cue built for?

It is set up as a playing cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

What kind of grip does it have?

The grip is wrapless. Irish linen wicks sweat and stays tacky, leather is plush and premium, and a no-wrap finish is fast and needs no maintenance. If your hands run warm, linen is usually the safer pick.

Is Quarter King an authorized K2 dealer?

Yes. We are an authorized K2 dealer, so this cue is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty against warpage and defects in workmanship. Warranty claims go through us — you do not have to deal with the factory yourself.

How fast does it ship, and can I return it?

Shipping is free on orders over $98 in the contiguous US, $5.50 flat otherwise, and you get tracking as soon as it moves. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unchalked, unused product — contact us first for a return authorization so it is credited without delay.

Compatible Shafts

This cue uses a Uni-Loc joint, so these shafts thread straight onto it. Not sure? Send us the cue and we will confirm the fit before you buy.
