McDermott Cue Stick with the Intimidator shaft

Without a doubt, with the lock down here in Mich. haven’t been able to shoot much pool ! But from the time I first received it and started playing with it I noticed a big difference in my game! Of course there was an adjustment period, but after that WOW, even my friends noticed how much better I am ! Thanks Toby for helping me out on my purchase ! Will pick up again !

    I-2 review

I didn’t know whether I should go for the DEFY carbon shaft or the I-2, but with some of the negatives regarding carbon fiber shafts, I gave the I-2 a try. Glad I did. Can’t imagine the DEFY, or any carbon fiber, being better. Really happy with the I-2 shaft.

    Seamless

Overall it’s a good shaft. Can get a ton of English without having to adjust for too much deflection. Only drawback is having to send it to McDermott so they can fit it to my McDermott shaft. Found out this is a very common issue but a bit bothersome. Hopefully have it back soon to see how it performs without the lip which may not bother some players but it’s part of my preshot ritual to slide across the joint and it was driving me crazy that it wasn’t smooth.

  6. Sam N. –

    Precise control but muffled feel

I have to say, the McDermott Intimidator i2 is absolutely a tour quality shaft. The contact feels well-built and is incredibly consistent; I’ve played with many shafts and this one helps me pocket with very precise english again and again. Also the intricate construction of the shaft really comes through and you feel how well built it is. The only gripe I have is that the feel is somewhat muffled; I like the sensation of the hit to be full in my right hand. This shaft’s pocket is extremely short and solid with a crisp finish.

    Quality cue and lifetime warranty

Quality cue stick and lifetime warranty is a must that is included. The feel and strike is solid. The deflection is on point as properly. This cue is a must if you want to improve. Just spitting with it will improve your game right off the bat.

    I 2 shaft

The shaft works pretty good,I had a soft morri tip on it,and draws back real solid

  12. Riley D. –

    Amazing Pool cue Shaft

From my perspective, i upgraded from a G-Core to the I-2 shaft. I’m extremely impressed on the difference in hit. Spin and stick ball control are at a different level with this shaft.

  13. Karen P. –

    I-2shaft

I ordered the intimidator shaft with a tip upgrade. Pooldawg did not disappoint! The i-2shaft was a perfect fit on my McDermott stick , super fluid and great feel when making contact. The kamui tip upgrade is on the mark . Pooldawg shipped it out the early Am and it came in in time for me to use . Thanks!

  14. Chris K. –

    This shaft is much better

To be frank, this shaft is much better then the the low deflection shaft that came with my stick

  15. Steve S. –

    amazing low deflection shaft

To be frank, i ordered this I-2 shaft with a kamui medium clear tip…i adore the feel of the hit, plus the low deflection was the finest i have used!…i would recommend this to anyone..would spend the money again, easily!!

  16. Mary K. –

    mcdermott intimidator 2 shaft

i absolutely love the feel of the pocket with this shaft…it seems to have the lowest deflection of any shaft i have tried yet!….i cannot get over the feeling of the hit..amazing…would definitely vouch for this to anyone.

  17. Amy G. –

Incredible cue shaft that’s worth the money.

This shaft is exceptional. The play and feel is so smooth and the ball control amazing. I’m glad that I purchased this shaft to upgrade the G-core shaft that came standard on my cue. It is properly a good deal it and I’d endorse it even to people without a McDermott stick as I’m sure the service team can do many different joint threads. My experience with McDermott has been second to none.

  18. Beth L. –

    Got last week the shaft

Got last week the shaft handles quite well pleasant and silky no vibrations at all.

  19. Morgan A. –

    Very nice

    Extremely nice

  20. Dave M. –

    Excellent mid deflection shaft

Outstanding support from the Pooldawg team, but has of now I havent received my order because UPS might have lost it. Still waiting. But I already have a i2 shaft: Deflection: medium not super low deflection but a lot less then maple shaft or G-Core. Play: well-built hit, nice taper, adore the small ferule. Feel: amazing, good combination between traditional maple shaft and stiff low deflection shaft. Thank for the support PoolDawg cant wait to get it.

  21. Rick G. –

Packaging miscue, runout player customer service

Curiously, I‘m being asked to review a product that hasn’t been tried as it was damaged in shipment. Here goes… Christian has been providing outstanding customer service! I can’t wait to put the replacement in play. I‘ve strike them before and found the I2 to be the top-notch LD shaft for me. bd

Questions about this cue

What joint does the McDermott MCDI2 Intimidator 2 Shaft use?

It uses a 3/8X10 joint. That means any 3/8X10 shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against 3/8X10 before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

What shaft diameter is the McDermott MCDI2 Intimidator 2 Shaft?

This cue ships with a 12.75mm shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

What is the McDermott MCDI2 Intimidator 2 Shaft built for?

It is set up as a playing cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

Is Quarter King an authorized McDermott dealer?

Yes. We are an authorized McDermott dealer, so this cue is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty against warpage and defects in workmanship. Warranty claims go through us — you do not have to deal with the factory yourself.

How fast does it ship, and can I return it?

Shipping is free on orders over $98 in the contiguous US, $5.50 flat otherwise, and you get tracking as soon as it moves. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unchalked, unused product — contact us first for a return authorization so it is credited without delay.
