Description

The Viking Siege BREAK is a carbon fiber break shaft offered only in a 13 mm tip size, with a conical taper. Viking winds the carbon fiber and resin onto the shaft form in one continuous process instead of overlapping sheets, which it says gives a more uniform structure and a smooth, sealed surface that is not sanded. A vibration dampening system adds mass along the length of the shaft.

The standard setup uses a Tiger Icebreaker+ tip on a quarter inch Viking SUPER ferrule, a smooth black resin finish and a high impact black joint with a brass insert. The default pin is Viking’s 5/16 x 18 quick release in stainless steel, and the shaft can also be ordered with five other joint styles. The joint size is .840 inch.

Viking asks owners to register the shaft within 30 days to qualify for the limited lifetime warranty. The surface should not be sanded or modified, powders are not recommended, and because the ferrule is part of the shaft structure, any ferrule repair goes through Viking. For cleaning, Viking suggests a cloth with 70 percent isopropyl alcohol.

Questions about this cue

What joint does the The Viking Siege BREAK - Carbon Fiber Performance Shaft use?

It uses a 3/8X10, 5/16X14, 5/16X18, Radial, Uni-Loc, Viking Quick Release joint. That means any 3/8X10, 5/16X14, 5/16X18, Radial, Uni-Loc, Viking Quick Release shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against 3/8X10, 5/16X14, 5/16X18, Radial, Uni-Loc, Viking Quick Release before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

What shaft diameter is the The Viking Siege BREAK - Carbon Fiber Performance Shaft?

This cue ships with a 13.00mm shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The The Viking Siege BREAK - Carbon Fiber Performance Shaft comes with a Carbon Fiber shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the The Viking Siege BREAK - Carbon Fiber Performance Shaft built for?

It is set up as a break cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

Is Quarter King an authorized Viking dealer?

Yes. We are an authorized Viking dealer, so this cue is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty against warpage and defects in workmanship. Warranty claims go through us — you do not have to deal with the factory yourself.
