Questions about this cue

What joint does the Xcel KX One Piece 57″ 100% Hard Rock Maple Pool Cues - 18-21oz use?

It uses a One-Piece joint. That means any One-Piece shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against One-Piece before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Xcel KX One Piece 57″ 100% Hard Rock Maple Pool Cues - 18-21oz comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Xcel KX One Piece 57″ 100% Hard Rock Maple Pool Cues - 18-21oz built for?

It is set up as a playing cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.
