Description

The Xcel XCSP is a Sneaky Pete pool cue, which means natural and brown tones in place of loud graphics. It is one of Xcel’s entry-level cues, where the SP in the model code stands for Sneaky Pete, and it suits players who want a plain playing cue without a wrap or any flash. If you like a cue that looks understated at the table, this is the Xcel model built around that idea.

Its 29-inch shaft is 100% hard rock maple, tipped with a 13 mm layered green soft tip. The 5/16 x 18 joint connects shaft and butt, a black Implex cap sits at the butt end, and a compression bumper completes it. The handle is wrapless, so there is no wrap on the grip. These are the same working parts found across the Xcel range, in a quieter finish.

Natural and brown are the finish colours, with the black Implex butt cap as the contrast. Choose 18, 19, 20 or 21 oz at checkout and put it to work on a home table, in a league or at the bar.

Questions about this cue

What joint does the Xcel XCSP Sneaky Pete Pool Cue use?

It uses a 5/16X18 joint. That means any 5/16X18 shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against 5/16X18 before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

What shaft diameter is the Xcel XCSP Sneaky Pete Pool Cue?

This cue ships with a 13.00mm shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Xcel XCSP Sneaky Pete Pool Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Xcel XCSP Sneaky Pete Pool Cue built for?

It is set up as a playing cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

What kind of grip does it have?

The grip is wrapless. Irish linen wicks sweat and stays tacky, leather is plush and premium, and a no-wrap finish is fast and needs no maintenance. If your hands run warm, linen is usually the safer pick.

Is Quarter King an authorized Xcel dealer?

Yes. We are an authorized Xcel dealer, so this cue is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty against warpage and defects in workmanship. Warranty claims go through us — you do not have to deal with the factory yourself.

How fast does it ship, and can I return it?

Shipping is free on orders over $98 in the contiguous US, $5.50 flat otherwise, and you get tracking as soon as it moves. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unchalked, unused product — contact us first for a return authorization so it is credited without delay.
