Outsville Accu-Rack System
I use the 9-ball template primarily, and like the Accu-Rack more than the other two brands I have used. The shape of the 9-ball template is more compact than the others, so fits in my case more easily; the material is more like cloth than rigid plastic, so can be more easily rolled up in the larger sizes. For whatever reason, I am able to rack more quickly and accurately with this brand than with the others.

The racks took their time to get here, but when they finally arrived I wasn’t disappointed. Consistently tight racks – each rack grips the cloth very effectively so you don’t need a ‘head ball’ to keep it in place and of course, the fabric folds so easily making it simple to fit in the stick bag to take to matches. I love the little cloth saver too and use it as a marker and a target for the pool cue ball during practice. The only thing I would criticise is that the template holes are so precise that you have to really push the balls together to get them to hold in place, but then you would anyway. Once you get used to the technique it’s quite effortless. This is a outstanding purchase.

4.5 out of 5… The 0.5 star deduction could be due to my poor set of pool balls
The Accu-rack works significantly better than my wooden racks. I currently have a basic set of pool balls that came with my table and getting a tight rack was really challenging, and breaks weren’t always the premier as a result. With the accu-rack, I’m able to get a tight rack most of the time. It took a little bit of getting use to (how to load and press forward) but it functions really effectively. I am giving a slight deduction from a 5 star rating because I occasionally (say, 15% of the time) have a difficult time getting all the balls to be tight and in contact. Sometimes the apex ball tends to roll slightly forward, and fixing that causes problems elsewhere. It’s likely due to lower quality balls, but the accu-rack description does say it works with all balls, including old and worn, so I would expect it to accommodate mine all the time. But, again, for the most part it works really well. I vouch for removing it from the table as soon as you’re able to, as it will slightly impede on the balls roll path.

Why are these not the standard everywhere?
Well, I know why they are not the standard, and that’s because people are thiefs. But, if I didn’t have my own, and I could check one out from the pool hall for a deposit of $20, which would be returned when I returned the rack, I would never use a triangle rack again. I purchased a kit with several different racks, like 8-ball and 10-ball, but I have only played maybe 100 games of 9-ball so far, and it’s amazing how much better the game is when you start with a perfect rack. I have seen my break and runs, and even packages increase because of how well this rack freezes the balls together. We all hate breaking, and just watching the balls flutter around only to end up in clusters because, even though we have a power break, the balls were racked loosely or came loose because the triangle rack just can’t keep the balls tight, and some idiot has probably put a hole in the slate by tamping down the front ball. That small divot on the spot is something that would never happen to new tables that used this rack. Seeing someone tamp down the one ball in a pool hall makes me cringe so hard, and I always have to say something to the person, because chances are they think they are performing some awesome, secret lifehack that only good pool players know. They don’t know that they are causing damage. The learning curve for this rack is about 3-5 racks before you gain confidence, and then you can quickly and easily have a perfect rack in less time than if you were using a triangle rack. We have all rolled that triangle back and forth trying anything to get a tighter rack, or to get the head ball as close to the spot as possible without the front ball rolling off the spot. No need for that with this rack. I thought maybe I wouldn’t like it, because it would interfere with the natural path of the balls, because I thought no matter how thin the rack is, it’s still sitting on top of the playing surface. But, I have not had a single issue, and have not seen any of the balls change direction or slow down because of the rack. I have a friend who has a magic rack, I believe, and it’s a plastic like material, with a shiny side and a dull side, and it only gets a perfect rack 8 out of every 10 times without having to adjust the balls on the rack. With this accu rack from Outsville, I have never had to adjust the balls as they lay on the rack. It’s been just right the first time every time that I have used it. It is a little awkward to carry with me, as there is no way to store them in my case, but the plastic sleeve the racks came in does seal very effectively with Velcro, and I just have to be mindful of them while lugging around my case. I suffer from OCD, and if the racks got even the slightest crease, I would have to give it away and buy a new one, even though it would still be usable. But, the awkwardness of taking them with me isn’t enough to remove even a half star. I highly recommend this product, as I wish I had made this purchase a long time ago. Buy it now.

I like the texture of the template, but it’s a little hard to keep the 8 ball rack together as you’re pushing the bottom row up. I like how 8, 9, 10, and even 3ball are all separate racks. The system functions if you push the balls up like it says, you can tell the build quality is high on these racks.

i tried the 9 ball rack 3 times so far. the balls were tight and my opponents and me both liked the breaks. if you hit the rack robust you’ll get a good well-built break and sink a ball eithe in the side or corner pocket, most likely. the rack is fair for both players.

Truthfully, i was curious about these racking systems since seeing them used in the pro matches. I thought I would give them a try. It takes a little getting used to. When racking using a gentle touch and slowing down helped so I didn’t bump the balls out of their position. I really like how perfectly aligned the rack is once the balls are in place. The first break was nice!!! The sound is that sound you want every time you break. Every ball is in its place. I will keep practicing using these templates for my racks. Wish we could use these for those tables in league that have drifting balls when racking. I really like this purchase.
