Shifty Bridge — 3-Wheel
I must admit, i recently discovered this item in the 2020 PoolDawg catalog. I have tried it few times — during practice and during competition. But I still need more practice to achieve consistency. I bought the Shifty Bridge, because I generally do not like using a mechanical bridge stick. I bought the 3-wheel version, because I thought it would be more mechanically stable than the single-wheel version. It is convenient to carry, easily attaches and detaches from a cue stick, and it functions nicely. A caution is to closely follow the usual alignment and aiming procedure and not rush the shot when using the Shifty Bridge. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because I am still learning to perfect the use of this item. I have had some inconsistencies when making shots with it, but more positive than negative results so far.

A Bridge With Training Wheels (LOL!)
When I got my original Shifty Bridge a couple years ago I got weird appears – and questions about legality – from my fellow league players. But, I cleared it with our league operator and became fairly proficiently consistent using it. When the three-wheeled version came out I had to get one . . . needless to say, my bridge shots have improved noticeably. With my severe arthritis it’s often difficult and painful to manipulate a stick-bridge, cue stick stick, bend over with a bad back . . . on and on. This little Shifty Bridge with training wheels helps equalize my game against younger opponents, and just makes it less painful and more pleasant – and fun – to shoot pool. Thank you to the developers of the Shifty Bridge, and to Pool Dawg for making this superb tool available!

Someone had a great idea when they started making the Shifty Bridge. It is a handy gadget with rollers, that you can keep in your pocket, and use when you need a bridge. It has it’s limitations and you need to practice a bit to learn what you can and can’t do with it, but overall, it is fine thing to have with you when you are playing competitive pool.

I’ve just added the shifty bridge to my arsenal and it’s already saved me on 3 shots. I’m a tall girl and have a good reach already but when you’re playing on a 9 foot table there are just some shots you can’t reach. This thing won’t shoot directly over another ball but in the right situation it’s a game changer. So convenient too because it fits in my smaller case pocket and it’s right there when I need it. Truthfully, this wheel style bridge performs well for certain hard to reach shots. It isn’t designed for shots where you need to draw or otherwise stroke the shot. But it’s an effective tool to have in your case. Also APA allows to use as a mechanical bridge.

I must admit, i played in a 10 ball tournament where one of my opponents used his stick extension along with the Shifty Bridge, in lieu of a mechanical bridge stick, on a long shot downtable. 3 Wheel Shifty Bridge
I am impressed by my shifty bridge 3 wheel. I’m in a wheelchair, so this is a wonderful tool for me since I can’t reach half of the shots that my abled bodied friends can. My shifty bridge is easy to carry & use on the fly without having to look for a bridge & how awkward a standard bridge is to use with two hands. I can use my shifty bridge with one hand which makes it easy to look down the stick for aiming my shot. My only issue is I keep loosing my bridge & I have ordered three replacements so far. I think that I need a lanyard or another gadget to keep track of it & not loose it so much. After three bridges purchased so far, it is starting to get expensive when I keep loosing or leaving them.

Definitely performs when you only have one fine arm to play with, takes some practice but you get used to it. For the tight spots where you can’t use it just remove it and play off the rail.
