I’m revising my previous review…..I cannot say the shaft was not straight when it arrived. I had it cut down and that may be the reason the shaft is not straight. The people at PoolDawg were more than willing to look at the issue but I acknowledge the issue is of my own making. Thanks for your consideration and prompt Customer Service.

I was very pleased with the shafts I got except one problem. The tip on the one that I got the kamui tip on popped off just 3/4 days ago. Other than that tho I was very pleased. especially with the customer service. I don’t remember for sure but I think the gentleman’s name was Kevin.

When I ordered my Q from pooldawg the customer service was fantastic. The representative rose friendly and helpful and told me when I would receive the Q and the mail. 3 business days later the queue got here in perfect condition. The only complaint I had was looking at the same Q on different sites I was convinced that parts of the design on the Q were in silver and it turned out they were white M reality.

schon is your friend
schon cues have a sloppy construction style like a cowboy style but they sure hit satisfactory like a wild woman whos good in bed but a little rough around the edges . the joint is smaller than the collars the butt sleeve feels sharp a little because the buttcap is smaller than the sleeve, and u can see the bumper through the buttcap if its white. the bumper feels solid but a little cheesy because you have to squeeze it in with a teeny little screw that tightens down into the weightbolt. but it feels really nice because they shaped the handle right on my stick at least the handle taper was gradual and steady with very little dropoff and the shafts are tapered real fine. and the cues r dependable in competition. overall a well maintained schon is a poolplayers friend.

fun to play with
i picked up three 12.5 mm shafts recently and i really like them with soft tips. nice tapers solid. they age properly and the wood gets stiffer and play better over time.

I tried the stiffer “low
I tried the stiffer “low deflection” offerings I see players using now. In playing one pocket, I found that when you use a soft stroke the Schon shafts stiff have a little give and do not push ball off the intended line. I loved getting back to that feeling. Schon shafts are the perfect balance for players that play both rotation and one pocket. PoolDawg shipped very quick the packaging was on point. Will be ordering a cue soon!!

The taper of the shaft
From my perspective, the taper of the shaft is different from my older Schon shafts. I prefer the older taper. Also, I ordered a Kamui tip to be put on my shaft. I did not receive the original tip that came on the shaft. I fully expected to receive that tip since it would have been on that new shaft in the first place had I not ordered a new tip. There was no mention of not receiving the original tip when ordering a replacement tip.

Great service from pooldawg as
I have to say, fantastic service from pooldawg as always. The shaft itself is terrific with the extra 2 inches (closer to 1.5″). I have another cue with a longer shift, so I knew I’d be happy with that aspect I have played with a Joss for years. The 29″ default Schon cue felt good but a bit too stiff. The extra length mellowed out the firmness of the hit. Also a bit less deflection. Very happy overall!
