    Action Break Cue

The ordering, item knowledge and service quite quality. However, the Taom tip was too pointy, especially for a phenolic type tip. I had to bring it to a local guy, pay $5 to have it filed to a more nickle profile. This should have been done prior to shipment to me.

    Break cue works great rubber

Honestly, break cue stick works wonderful rubber wrap is good my friend had one I used a few times before I ordered this one so I knew what I was getting

Great Break Pool cue at a great price point

For a 150+ dollar cue I have been extremely impressed, I had the phenolic tip swapped out for a Kamui Sai Control Break tip. My break shots aren’t very powerful however this break cue makes it easier for me to get a good spread on the break. I highly recommend this break cue, you don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars to get a solid break pool cue. Unfortunately there isn’t any joint protectors made specifically for this cue stick however I can confirm that the Scorpion JAR joint protector do fit this cue. I tried my Lucasi Uni-Lock joint protectors but the one that goes over the pin leaves a tiny gap and the shaft one didn’t have a long enough pin to be able to screw onto the shaft. I hope this review helps current owners and future buyers.

    Nice stick, but the factory

Nice stick, but the factory tip leaves a little to be desired. I vouch for spending the extra money on a better tip!

Operates amazing compared to the house cues.

I’m an APA level 3 player. I’m had previous control issues breaking with a phenolic tip on a teammate’s break cue so I had the tip replaced with the Samsara leather tip. I am breaking much harder than I did using a house pool cue consistently getting a good spread and usually a ball. Quite satisfied with the purchase.

    PoolDawg does it again!

This is my favorite heavy break cue. At 25 ounces it really gives you confidence about the outcome of the break. PoolDawg delivered a properly packaged cue and in record breaking time.

Weight & Balance

This cue is offered in No, WBACT. A lighter cue is easier to accelerate for a whippy, spin-friendly stroke; a heavier cue plants more solidly and drives the cue ball with less effort. Most players settle between 19 and 20 ounces.

This model takes a weight-bolt system, so the weight and balance point can be tuned after purchase. Adding weight toward the butt moves the balance rearward for a more planted feel; less weight shifts it forward for a livelier stroke. The balance point on a finished cue usually sits about 18 to 19 inches from the butt.

Questions about this cue

What joint does the Action ABK05 Red Sport Break Cue use?

It uses a Inox Quick Release joint. That means any Inox Quick Release shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against Inox Quick Release before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

What shaft diameter is the Action ABK05 Red Sport Break Cue?

This cue ships with a 14.00mm shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Action ABK05 Red Sport Break Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Action ABK05 Red Sport Break Cue built for?

It is set up as a break cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

What kind of grip does it have?

The grip is sport wrap. Irish linen wicks sweat and stays tacky, leather is plush and premium, and a no-wrap finish is fast and needs no maintenance. If your hands run warm, linen is usually the safer pick.

Is Quarter King an authorized Action dealer?

Yes. We are an authorized Action dealer, so this cue is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty against warpage and defects in workmanship. Warranty claims go through us — you do not have to deal with the factory yourself.

How fast does it ship, and can I return it?

Shipping is free on orders over $98 in the contiguous US, $5.50 flat otherwise, and you get tracking as soon as it moves. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unchalked, unused product — contact us first for a return authorization so it is credited without delay.
