Action ACTB08 Canadian Maple One-Piece Cue

Action’s ACTB08 steps the one-piece formula up to Canadian maple, offered in 18oz, 19oz, 20oz, and 21oz weights so players can match their natural stroke. Canadian maple brings a stiffer, more responsive feel than the birch ACTB07, which makes this the pick when you want cleaner feedback off the cue ball without moving to a jointed cue. The 13mm leather tip and BUMPACT plug bumper keep things simple, and the natural finish looks at home in any room. Good fit for league spots running their own house racks or a newer player ready for something that actually plays like a cue.

The Action ACTB08 Canadian Maple One-Piece Cue is a Action playing cue sold by Quarter King Billiards. It has a 13.00mm classic wood shaft.

Description

The ACTB08 is a one-piece cue from Action, built as a single continuous stick rather than a two-piece joint. Action built the ACTB08 around a 13mm classic wood shaft and a tan finish. Action names this one the Canadian Maple, one of a small run of one-piece cues identified by wood species instead of a color or series label.

A one-piece build like this is meant for a table that needs a cheap, durable house cue, not a personal playing cue. Being one piece also means it’s cheap enough to replace outright if it gets damaged, rather than repaired. The ACTB08 isn’t available to ship right now, so treat this page as reference until it’s back in stock. The ACTB08 is one entry in a catalog where Action reuses the same handful of joints and shafts across many names.

Questions about this cue

What shaft diameter is the Action ACTB08 Canadian Maple One-Piece Cue?

This cue ships with a 13.00mm shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Action ACTB08 Canadian Maple One-Piece Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Action ACTB08 Canadian Maple One-Piece Cue built for?

It is set up as a playing cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.
