The Action MAY28 Mayhem Cue is a Action playing cue sold by Quarter King Billiards. It comes in 29" Hard rock maple and 10-12" Pro taper tip sizes with a 5/16X18 joint. It lists at $150, with free shipping over $98 and 30-day returns.

Description

The MAY28 is Action’s Mayhem cue, a linen-wrapped playing cue with its own color pairing. On the MAY28, Action pairs a 5/16×18 joint, a 13mm classic wood shaft, a linen wrap, and your choice of black or tan.

It plays like Action’s other linen-wrapped cues, with the finish being the main thing that sets it apart. Its build lines up with Action’s other linen-wrapped cues in this price range, aside from the color pairing. The MAY28 is sold out for the time being, worth a follow-up call if this exact color matters to you. For reference, the MAY28 falls within Action’s broader lineup of similarly built playing cues at nearby price points.

Questions about this cue

What joint does the Action MAY28 Mayhem Cue use?

It uses a 5/16X18 joint. That means any 5/16X18 shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against 5/16X18 before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

What shaft diameter is the Action MAY28 Mayhem Cue?

This cue ships with a 29" Hard rock maple, 10-12" Pro taper shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Action MAY28 Mayhem Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Action MAY28 Mayhem Cue built for?

It is set up as a playing cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

What kind of grip does it have?

The grip is linen wrap. Irish linen wicks sweat and stays tacky, leather is plush and premium, and a no-wrap finish is fast and needs no maintenance. If your hands run warm, linen is usually the safer pick.

Is Quarter King an authorized Action dealer?

Yes. We are an authorized Action dealer, so this cue is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty against warpage and defects in workmanship. Warranty claims go through us — you do not have to deal with the factory yourself.

How fast does it ship, and can I return it?

Shipping is free on orders over $98 in the contiguous US, $5.50 flat otherwise, and you get tracking as soon as it moves. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unchalked, unused product — contact us first for a return authorization so it is credited without delay.
