Description

This longer version of the HC09 Shorty Cue keeps the brown finish of its shorter sibling but steps up slightly in length and price, listed at about $90. The shaft spec does not change between the two lengths: both use the 13.00mm classic wood shaft that Energy relies on throughout the collection, so the choice between this model and the shorter HC09-48 comes down to fit rather than feel. A slightly longer shorty cue like this one splits the difference between a full-size stick and the most compact travel option, which can suit taller players who still need a shortened cue for a tight space. It remains a straightforward, budget-focused build without added trim or wrap. Stock is currently available at this length.

Questions about this cue

What shaft diameter is the Energy By Players HC09 Shorty Cue?

This cue ships with a 13.00mm shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Energy By Players HC09 Shorty Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Energy By Players HC09 Shorty Cue built for?

It is set up as a playing cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

Is Quarter King an authorized Energy dealer?
