Description
Charcoal stained maple fills the forearm and butt sleeve on the KAT2503, framed by triple brass rings and set against a black Irish linen wrap. A Uni-Loc joint with a black collar and stainless steel pin holds the two halves together, and a stainless steel butt plate etched with the Katana logo closes out the butt end. The bumper is threaded rubber, ready for an extension, and the whole cue balances at 1.4 lb with a weight bolt for adjustment.
Where the KAT2503 earns its keep is the 29-inch carbon fiber shaft, built with a 7-12 pro taper and an etched Katana logo of its own. Maple shafts swell and shrink with the weather and pick up dings from normal use, and both of those things change how a cue plays over time. Carbon fiber doesn’t absorb moisture the same way and stands up to knocks that would mark up wood, so the shaft you break in stays the shaft you’re playing with months later. A 12.5mm layered tip finishes it off, and joint protectors are included.
