The McDermott G522 G Series Cue is a McDermott playing cue sold by Quarter King Billiards. It has a Black Collar w/ Bocote Ring joint and a 3/8X10 classic wood shaft. It lists at $500, with free shipping over $98 and 30-day returns.

Description

Round out the G521 family and you land on the G522, which keeps the 3/8×10 joint and 13mm Classic Wood shaft but swaps in a brown and tan color scheme wrapped in linen. The two-tone look gives it a warmer, more traditional appearance than its black siblings while the underlying build, wood shaft, linen grip, standard joint, stays the same dependable formula. Priced around $500, it is aimed at players who want classic looks without paying a premium for exotic materials. Linen wrap fans like the material for how it holds up to hand chalk over time without getting slick. The G522 is currently out of stock, so availability may take some time to return.

    BIG BUCK WILDFIRE

To be frank, the G522 is Classic McDermott Quality. The 3D Laser Engraving is Exceptional. Looks Wonderful, Feels Outstanding, Shoots Straight. If you like Shooting Pool and Big Bucks the G522 is a darn quality fit.

Questions about this cue

What joint does the McDermott G522 G Series Cue use?

It uses a Black Collar w/ Bocote Ring joint. That means any Black Collar w/ Bocote Ring shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against Black Collar w/ Bocote Ring before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

What shaft diameter is the McDermott G522 G Series Cue?

This cue ships with a 3/8X10 shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The McDermott G522 G Series Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the McDermott G522 G Series Cue built for?

It is set up as a playing cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

Is Quarter King an authorized McDermott dealer?

Yes. We are an authorized McDermott dealer, so this cue is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty against warpage and defects in workmanship. Warranty claims go through us — you do not have to deal with the factory yourself.

How fast does it ship, and can I return it?

Shipping is free on orders over $98 in the contiguous US, $5.50 flat otherwise, and you get tracking as soon as it moves. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unchalked, unused product — contact us first for a return authorization so it is credited without delay.

Compatible Shafts

This cue uses a 3/8X10 joint, so these shafts thread straight onto it. Not sure? Send us the cue and we will confirm the fit before you buy.
