Description
Run your hand down the KAT2502’s shaft and you’ll notice it’s maple all the way, 29 inches with a European taper that feels familiar through the bridge hand. It’s a carbon core maple shaft, meaning a carbon rod sits inside the wood rather than the shaft being carbon fiber itself, and that core is what keeps the taper stable and resistant to warping over years of play. A 12.7mm layered black tip sits on top, ready for chalk from the first rack.
Blue stained maple, laminated behind triple brass rings, covers both the forearm and the butt sleeve, with black Irish linen wrapped in between for a grip that won’t slip mid-stroke. The Uni-Loc joint uses a black collar and stainless steel pin, and a stainless steel butt plate carries the etched Katana logo. The rubber bumper is threaded for an extension, and overall weight holds at 1.4 lb, changeable through the weight bolt. Protectors for the joint are in the box, a case is not, and a limited manufacturer warranty applies.
