Summit Cues, Shafts & Accessories

Summit is Quarter King's entry-level pool cue and shaft brand, built as a production line rather than a custom shop. We stock 22 Summit products in all: 15 pool cues split between a Classic Wood series and a Carbon Fiber series, plus two Pro LD replacement shafts, a Kielwood shaft, two carbon fiber shafts, a bridge glove, and a metal tip tool. Below is what each line is built from, the joint and shaft choices behind it, and what players on the AZBilliards forums say about Summit's low-deflection shaft. One note before you shop: a separate, unrelated cue maker also uses the Summit name. The Summit sold here is this production brand, not that custom line.

Every item is brand new and 100% genuine, backed by its full manufacturer warranty. Free shipping on orders over $98 (contiguous US) and 30-day returns. Every spec on this page is checked against the manufacturer's published data by our Wilmington, NC store team.

About Summit

About Summit

Summit is a production pool cue and shaft brand, priced and built for players who want a real
two-piece cue or a shaft upgrade without custom-cue money. It is not a small-batch or hand-fit line: the
cues are numbered models, SUML09 through SUML23, rather than named after a builder or a signature
player, and the lineup is organized by build material rather than by a series name. Quarter King carries
22 Summit products in total, covering pool cues, replacement shafts, a bridge glove, and a tip tool.

Worth knowing if you search for Summit cues online: a separate, unrelated company has also sold
custom playing and break cues under the Summit name over the years, changing ownership more than once.
That custom line is not what Quarter King carries. The Summit brand on this site is the production cue
and shaft range described below, priced from about $20 for the tip tool up to about $450 for a full
carbon fiber cue.

Most of the 22-product range is pool cues, 15 of them, split between a Classic Wood series (9 cues)
and a Carbon Fiber series (6 cues, including three break cues). The rest of the lineup is the gear
around a cue: shaft options, a bridge glove, and a metal tip tool. See the full cue lineup on our
Summit Cues shelf.

The two cue families also read as two different points in the catalog's life. The Classic Wood cues
have been part of the range longer, while the Carbon Fiber cues, including all three break cues, are a
more recent addition built around a full carbon fiber blank rather than the wood-and-shaft construction
of the older line. That split shows up in the specs below: the Classic Wood cues share one joint and
shaft size across all nine models, while the Carbon Fiber cues use a different joint standard entirely
and add a dedicated break-taper option the older line does not offer.

The Summit lineup at Quarter King

Cues

The Classic Wood series, SUML09 through SUML17, is Summit's core line: nine cues built around a
3/8x10 joint and a 12.50mm classic wood shaft. Six of the nine carry an active price of about $290; the
other three, SUML09, SUML10, and SUML11, are currently listed without a set price while out of stock.
Eight of the nine use a leather wrap, and one, SUML17, is built wrapless. Color choice is wide here,
nine different colorways across the series, from black and red to purple and yellow: SUML09 comes in
black, red, or white; SUML10 in white or purple; SUML11 in black, gold, or yellow; SUML12 in black, red,
or pink; SUML13 and SUML15 in blue or black; SUML14 in red only; SUML16 in black or yellow; and SUML17
in blue or green.

The Carbon Fiber series, SUML18 through SUML23, is newer stock: six cues priced at about $450 each.
Three are playing cues on a 12.40mm carbon fiber shaft, and three are break cues built on a wider
13.75mm break-taper shaft, all sharing a Uni-Loc joint and a wrapless, snake-weave carbon finish. SUML18
runs a blue weave over black, SUML19 a red weave, SUML20 a green weave, SUML21 a grey weave, SUML22 a
red weave, and SUML23 a blue weave. Four of the six are currently in stock, SUML20 through SUML23; the
two playing-cue colorways SUML18 and SUML19 are temporarily out. See specs, colors, and stock for every
model on the Summit Cues page.

Shafts, glove and tip tool

Beyond cues, Summit's shaft lineup at Quarter King splits into four options. Two Pro LD replacement
shafts cover a 12.50mm and an 11.50mm diameter, both on a Uni-Loc pin, at about $210 each. A Kielwood
shaft runs about $230 on the same Uni-Loc pin. Two carbon fiber shafts, a 12.40mm playing shaft and a
13.80mm break shaft, are each available with a 5/16x18, Uni-Loc, or 3/8x10 pin so they can go onto more
than one cue, priced at about $220 each. Three of the four shaft lines are currently in stock; only the
12.40mm carbon fiber playing shaft is temporarily out.

Rounding out the range, a universal-fit bridge glove runs about $30 and a metal tip tool runs about
$20. Our own listing describes the glove as reversible with reinforced stitching so it works on either
hand, and the tip tool as a compact, metal-bodied option for shaping and scuffing a tip between racks,
sold in black, blue, or white to match a case or cue. Both are useful add-ons alongside any cue in the
brand, not just Summit's own.

Construction and specs across the range

Joint hardware splits cleanly by material. The Classic Wood cues run a 3/8x10 joint, while every
Carbon Fiber cue and most Summit shafts use a Uni-Loc joint, except the two carbon fiber shafts, which
are also offered with a 5/16x18 or 3/8x10 pin. That spread means a Summit carbon fiber shaft can often
be fitted to a cue outside the brand if the pin matches, which is not something every house shaft brand
offers.

Shaft size and material follow the same split. The Classic Wood cues and the Kielwood shaft both run
in the 12.50mm to 12.55mm range, while the Carbon Fiber playing cues and shafts sit at 12.40mm and the
break-specific builds step up to 13.75mm and 13.80mm for a stiffer, higher-mass hit. Wrap material is
leather on most of the Classic Wood cues and wrapless across the entire Carbon Fiber series, letting the
carbon weave run the full length of the forearm. For background on what a joint pin, shaft taper, or
wrap style actually changes about how a cue plays, our glossary covers the
terms in plain language.

Who Summit suits

Summit is priced for players who want a step up from a house cue, or who want to try a low-deflection
or carbon fiber shaft without paying flagship prices. A widely referenced AZBilliards buyer's guide
places Summit-branded gear in its lowest budget bracket, roughly $100 to $190 for a cue and a similar
tier for the Pro LD shaft as an upgrade part, alongside other entry-level names. The same guide lists the
Summit LD shaft under its under-$300 low-deflection bracket next to the Players HXT shaft and the
McDermott G-Core, which is company Summit keeps well outside its own price class.

The clearest player feedback we found is about the Pro LD shaft rather than the cues themselves. In
one forum thread on the shaft, posters compared its low-deflection design to the well-known Players HXT
shaft, noting it uses less flex at the tip than a plain maple shaft without the price of a full carbon
build. A separate thread recommended the Summit LD shaft as an upgrade for an entry-level cue, putting
it in the same conversation as step-up shafts from Lucasi and Predator. Neither thread raised complaints
about durability or fit; the main open question posters had was simply how the shaft compared with other
budget low-deflection options, which is a reasonable question at this price rather than a warning sign.

Warranty and what to know

Neither our own Summit listings nor the manufacturer's site publish a specific warranty term for this
brand the way some higher-tier cues do. If warranty coverage matters to your purchase, check the
individual product listing before buying or contact us directly, since terms can differ by item and we
would rather confirm the current policy than guess at one. In general, expect production-level
construction: solid, functional hardware built to a price point rather than hand-fit, boutique work.

One practical upside of a lineup built around a small number of joint standards: parts availability.
Because the Classic Wood cues all share a 3/8x10 joint and the Carbon Fiber cues all share a Uni-Loc
joint, a joint protector, case, or replacement shaft sized for either standard will fit any cue in that
family, so you are not hunting for a brand-specific part years down the road.

What players say

Player commentary specific to the Summit brand is thin online compared with bigger production names,
partly because a different, unrelated Summit-branded custom cue company has used up much of the search
results under the same name over the years. What we did find centers on the shafts. One AZBilliards
poster called the Summit Pro LD shaft a good deal at its price point after watching independent reviews
of it, while another weighed it directly against carbon fiber alternatives before deciding a carbon
shaft from a different maker suited his needs better.

That trade-off, a genuinely low-deflection design at a moderate price against a full carbon fiber
build at a higher one, is the recurring theme across what commentary exists. For a player who wants to
test whether a low-deflection shaft changes their game before committing to a $400-plus carbon cue, a
Summit Pro LD shaft is a low-cost way to find out.

We found no forum discussion specifically reviewing the Classic Wood or Carbon Fiber playing cues, so
we are not going to invent player quotes for parts of the lineup that have not been reviewed. What the
listings and the manufacturer's own product structure support is straightforward: a 3/8x10, leather-wrap
cue for a traditional feel, and a Uni-Loc, wrapless carbon fiber cue, including a break-specific option,
for a player who wants a stiffer, more consistent hit without hand-fit pricing.

Frequently asked questions about Summit

Is the Summit brand at Quarter King the same as the custom Summit Cues company?

No. A separate, unrelated cue maker has sold custom Summit-branded cues under different owners over the years. The Summit brand at Quarter King is a production line of cues and shafts, priced well below custom-cue territory.

What does Quarter King carry under the Summit brand?

22 products: 15 pool cues (9 Classic Wood, 6 Carbon Fiber), two Pro LD replacement shafts, a Kielwood shaft, two carbon fiber shafts, a bridge glove, and a metal tip tool.

Will a Summit carbon fiber shaft fit a cue from another brand?

Possibly. Both Summit carbon fiber shafts come in a 5/16x18, Uni-Loc, or 3/8x10 pin option, so one may fit a non-Summit cue if the joint pin matches. Check your cue's joint before ordering.

Does Summit offer a break-specific cue?

Yes. Three of the six Carbon Fiber cues, SUML21 through SUML23, are break cues built on a wider 13.75mm break-taper shaft rather than the 12.40mm shaft used on the rest of the series.

What is Summit's cue warranty?

We do not have a published warranty term for this brand from our listings or the manufacturer's site. Check the individual product page or contact us before buying if warranty coverage is a deciding factor.
