Description
The Cuetec AVID CT338NW is a Surge series break cue: black, wrapless, and fitted with a steel collar and butt plate. The shaft is not carbon fiber. Cuetec builds it from multiple plies of glass composite bonded to A-grade kiln-dried hard maple, with the glass layers running the full length of the shaft.
The 29 inch shaft has Cuetec’s Air Light front end, bored out more than 10 inches to remove mass, and the Surge Power Pro Taper. Impact is handled by a 13mm Power+ phenolic tip on an oriented-fiber glass pad, set behind a 7mm Power+ phenolic ferrule.
The joint is a 3/8×14 Cuetec joint (21.30mm). Standard cue weight is 19 oz, adjustable in 0.25 oz steps with the Acueweight Generation II system. Joint protectors come with the cue. No extension is included, though the bumper is Duo extension ready, and Cuetec’s limited warranty applies. A stiff glass-composite shaft is a sensible break build, and a separate break cue spares your playing cue from repeated full-power hits.

Fluid to stroke but powerful. at 19oz, the power it gives feels like a 25oz. Amazing break stick for the cost.
