The Pechauer JP25R05 Pro Series Cue is a Pechauer playing cue sold by Quarter King Billiards. It has a classic wood shaft. It is in stock at $495, with free shipping over $98 and 30-day returns.

Description

An ebony-stained figured maple forearm and a bocote handle set the look of the Pechauer JP25R05. There is no wrap, the butt sleeve is ebony-stained figured maple, the collar is a dashed ring, and the butt plate is white with the Pechauer logo.

It has a piloted Pechauer Speed Joint, a 29-inch hard rock maple shaft with a 10-12 inch Pro Taper, a 12.75mm Pechauer Jade Medium tip and a 5/8 inch Juma ferrule. The bumper is black rubber. With no wrap, the grip is plain wood, so there is no linen to wear out or replace.

The weight bolt (type WBPEC) can be changed, and Pechauer’s standard weight is 19 oz. It carries a lifetime warranty, is made in the USA, and does not include an extension, case or joint protectors. Pechauer’s own model name for it is P05-R.

Weight & Balance

This model takes a weight-bolt system, so the weight and balance point can be tuned after purchase. Adding weight toward the butt moves the balance rearward for a more planted feel; less weight shifts it forward for a livelier stroke. The balance point on a finished cue usually sits about 18 to 19 inches from the butt.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Pechauer JP25R05 Pro Series Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.
