The Players JB5 Jump/Break Cue is a Players break, jump cue sold by Quarter King Billiards. It has a quick-release joint and a 13.00mm classic wood shaft. It is in stock at $219, with free shipping over $98 and 30-day returns.

Description

The JB5 is the one break/jump cue in this lineup finished with a linen wrap rather than going wrapless like its JB siblings, giving it a bit more grip texture during hard break shots. It still uses the Turbo-Lock joint system built for quick, secure assembly, along with a 13mm Classic Wood shaft. The black finish and black linen wrap keep it understated compared to the zebrawood or natural-finish break cues in the series. At about $220, it is one of the more affordable JB cues, making it a reasonable entry point for a player looking for their first dedicated break cue. In stock.

Questions about this cue

What joint does the Players JB5 Jump/Break Cue use?

It uses a quick-release joint. That means any quick-release shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against quick-release before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

What shaft diameter is the Players JB5 Jump/Break Cue?

This cue ships with a 13.00mm shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Players JB5 Jump/Break Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Players JB5 Jump/Break Cue built for?

It is set up as a break, jump cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

What kind of grip does it have?

The grip is linen wrap. Irish linen wicks sweat and stays tacky, leather is plush and premium, and a no-wrap finish is fast and needs no maintenance. If your hands run warm, linen is usually the safer pick.

Is Quarter King an authorized Players dealer?
