The Stealth STH22 Cue is a Stealth playing cue sold by Quarter King Billiards. It has a 5/16X18 joint and a 13.00mm classic wood shaft. It lists at $144, with free shipping over $98 and 30-day returns.

Description

Ash wood is the focus of the Stealth STH22. The forearm and the butt sleeve are both ash, and the handle is an ash wood Dooley handle, so this playing cue has no wrap and the grip is the wood handle itself. Stealth describes the Dooley Handle as a patented grip design.

The shaft is 29-inch Hardrock Maple with a 10 to 12 inch pro taper, tipped with a 13mm Le Pro tip on a 1 inch fiber linen ferrule and joined through a 5/16 x 18 pin. A 13mm tip is a conventional full-size diameter, wider than the slimmer tip sizes some players choose for a narrower shaft feel.

At the butt there is a black composite plate with the Stealth logo and a black rubber bumper. A weight bolt (WBACT) allows the weight to be changed, and the cue is available in 18, 19, 20 and 21 oz. No extension, case or joint protectors are included. This cue is made in China and comes with a limited manufacturer warranty.

Cool Upgrade

Finally decided to upgrade from a cheap Amazon cue, and this was a terrific choice. Paired with a Stealth break cue, I am constantly getting compliments on the cool style. I didn’t buy it expecting equipment to correct all my game issues, but I’m seeing improvement nonetheless. Suggest.

Weight & Balance

This model takes a weight-bolt system, so the weight and balance point can be tuned after purchase. Adding weight toward the butt moves the balance rearward for a more planted feel; less weight shifts it forward for a livelier stroke. The balance point on a finished cue usually sits about 18 to 19 inches from the butt.

What joint does the Stealth STH22 Cue use?

It uses a 5/16X18 joint. That means any 5/16X18 shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against 5/16X18 before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

What shaft diameter is the Stealth STH22 Cue?

This cue ships with a 13.00mm shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Stealth STH22 Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Stealth STH22 Cue built for?
