Cue Butts

Cue butts are for players assembling a cue around a compatible shaft or replacing the handle section of an existing setup. This collection includes playing and break-cue butts, with wrapped and no-wrap options. Check the intended use and joint carefully, since the items here are sold as butt-only components.

Every item is brand new and 100% genuine, backed by its full manufacturer warranty. Free shipping on orders over $98 (contiguous US) and 30-day returns. Every spec on this page is checked against the manufacturer's published data by our Wilmington, NC store team.

About Cue Butts

Butt-only options

  • Spartan: SPRBK break and SPR06 cue butts.
  • NB series: Uni-Loc, 5/16x18, 3/8x10 and 5/16x14 choices with wrapped or no-wrap handles.
  • Other butt-only models: compare the individual designs and connection details before choosing.

Choosing your equipment

Match the butt to the shaft you intend to use, including the exact joint configuration. A butt-only purchase does not complete the cue on its own. If you are selecting both parts, browse replacement shafts and confirm the two components together before placing your order.

Frequently asked questions about Cue Butts

How do I choose the right joint?

The joint shapes how a cue hits. Radial and 3/8"x10 joints give a solid, low-deflection feel; quick-release joints make breakdown fast. Not sure? A radial or 3/8"x10 is a safe all-around pick.

Does shaft diameter really matter?

Yes. A thinner shaft (11.75–12.5mm) puts more spin on the ball with a crisp hit, while a larger shaft (12.75–13mm) feels fuller and more forgiving.

Irish linen, leather, or no wrap?

Irish linen wicks sweat with a classic tacky grip. Leather is plush and premium. No-wrap is fast and low-maintenance.

Are these cues tournament legal?

The WPA equipment specification requires a cue at least 40 inches long and no more than 25 ounces, with a tip no wider than 14mm and any metal ferrule no longer than 1 inch. Standard two-piece playing cues fall inside those limits; league rules on jump and break cues vary, so check yours.

What's the warranty & return policy?

Cues carry the manufacturer's warranty against warpage and defects. See our Warranty and Return Policy pages for details.
