The Athena ATH56 Cue is a Athena playing cue sold by Quarter King Billiards. It has a 5/16X18 Piloted joint and a 13.00mm classic wood shaft. It lists at $284, with free shipping over $98 and 30-day returns.

Description

The Athena ATH56 combines black, purple, and multicolor accents for one of the busier finishes in the lineup, while keeping the same core construction as every other cue here: a 5/16×18 piloted joint, 13.00mm hard rock maple shaft, and a linen wrap. It is aimed at a player who wants a cue that stands out visually without needing a custom build to get there. At about $280, the ATH56 is currently out of stock, though the finish is worth watching for anyone set on this particular combination. See more of the line at /product-category/athena-pool-cues/.

    Athena Stick

I absolutely love this stick. The extension for longer shots is so convenient. It’s a gorgeous pool cue and totally fits my style. Been playing more lately, as I played consistently years ago.

Weight & Balance

This cue is offered in WBACT, Yes. A lighter cue is easier to accelerate for a whippy, spin-friendly stroke; a heavier cue plants more solidly and drives the cue ball with less effort. Most players settle between 19 and 20 ounces.

Questions about this cue

What joint does the Athena ATH56 Cue use?

It uses a 5/16X18 Piloted joint. That means any 5/16X18 Piloted shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against 5/16X18 Piloted before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

What shaft diameter is the Athena ATH56 Cue?

This cue ships with a 13.00mm shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Athena ATH56 Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Athena ATH56 Cue built for?

It is set up as a playing cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

What kind of grip does it have?

The grip is linen wrap. Irish linen wicks sweat and stays tacky, leather is plush and premium, and a no-wrap finish is fast and needs no maintenance. If your hands run warm, linen is usually the safer pick.

Is Quarter King an authorized Athena dealer?

Yes. We are an authorized Athena dealer, so this cue is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty against warpage and defects in workmanship. Warranty claims go through us — you do not have to deal with the factory yourself.

How fast does it ship, and can I return it?

Shipping is free on orders over $98 in the contiguous US, $5.50 flat otherwise, and you get tracking as soon as it moves. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unchalked, unused product — contact us first for a return authorization so it is credited without delay.

Compatible Shafts

This cue uses a 5/16X18 Piloted joint, so these shafts thread straight onto it. Not sure? Send us the cue and we will confirm the fit before you buy.
