The Balabushka GB08 Cue is a Balabushka playing cue sold by Quarter King Billiards. It has a 5/16X14 Piloted joint and a 13.00mm classic wood shaft. It is in stock at $1,643, with free shipping over $98 and 30-day returns.

Description

At about $1640, the GB08 sits just above its GB05 sibling in price while matching it spec for spec: a 5/16×14 piloted joint, a 13mm classic wood shaft, and a black and tan linen wrap. The small price gap between the two comes down to model rather than materials, since the build spec sheet reads the same either way. What a buyer is really choosing between when comparing the GB08 and GB05 is the model number and any cosmetic detail beyond what shows up in specs, since the underlying cue plays the same. The GB08 still carries the Balabushka name’s link to one of pool’s most storied custom cue makers, George Balabushka, into a production cue priced for a serious player rather than a museum piece. It is in stock and available now.

Questions about this cue

What joint does the Balabushka GB08 Cue use?

It uses a 5/16X14 Piloted joint. That means any 5/16X14 Piloted shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against 5/16X14 Piloted before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

What shaft diameter is the Balabushka GB08 Cue?

This cue ships with a 13.00mm shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Balabushka GB08 Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Balabushka GB08 Cue built for?

It is set up as a playing cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

What kind of grip does it have?

The grip is linen wrap. Irish linen wicks sweat and stays tacky, leather is plush and premium, and a no-wrap finish is fast and needs no maintenance. If your hands run warm, linen is usually the safer pick.

Is Quarter King an authorized Balabushka dealer?

Yes. We are an authorized Balabushka dealer, so this cue is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty against warpage and defects in workmanship. Warranty claims go through us — you do not have to deal with the factory yourself.

How fast does it ship, and can I return it?

Shipping is free on orders over $98 in the contiguous US, $5.50 flat otherwise, and you get tracking as soon as it moves. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unchalked, unused product — contact us first for a return authorization so it is credited without delay. Because this one is over $600, a 10% restocking fee applies to the return.
