    Griffin Playing Stick

Honestly, this cue has exceeded my expectations. The style is stunning classic design which I was looking for. But the real beauty is in the way it performs. Effectively balanced and an excellent tip right out of the box. The only suggestion I would have is to scuff the tip immediately to hold chalk a little better. I’d recommend it to anyone except my opponents.

    Reliable Starting Cue

This was my first cue that I bought online. I’ve used it for many months now and it still acts like the day I first got it. The name is not a huge name but it still is a great cue to own at a relatively low price point.

  21. Lisa N. –

    Griffin cue stick

Bought 3 Griffin cues sold 2 kept one 2GR17 n one GR46. sold the 46 n one of the 17. Both customers are truly happy with their purchase and the cues play. My only gripe is that when i first purchased a Griffin cue i paid closer to a hundred dollars than closer than to two hundred. You have rasied the cost so much on all your cues no one can really purchase them for resale and make any kind of profit You and every other company has taken any resale profit away from the smaller retailer.I used to make eighty to a hundred off a stick. Now i can barely make forty or fifty Thanks to your price point hiking. Yes of heard all your excuses that inflation the company raised ours etc. My purchases well be further n farther apart . My opinion The cues ok the price sucks

  22. Mary D. –

Great gift for a beginner player

Bought this cue stick for my son for his 20th birthday. Delivery was quick and easy. I ordered a case as well, and PoolDawg took the time to place the cue in the carrying case so it was properly protected during the shipment process. Previously my son was just using one-piece house sticks, so he is loving getting something with better weight and feel. And we both liked the design, quite sharp looking.

John Averett, uses the GR17 pool cue

I love this GR17 cue stick! This stick handles very well and it is a beautiful addition to my gear. Shipped to me very swift and customer service was excellent. I am a pretty good player and this cue stick is comparable to some of the more expensive cues I have played with.

Questions about this cue

What joint does the Griffin GR17 Cue use?

It uses a 5/16X18 Piloted joint. That means any 5/16X18 Piloted shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against 5/16X18 Piloted before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

What shaft diameter is the Griffin GR17 Cue?

This cue ships with a 13.00mm shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Griffin GR17 Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Griffin GR17 Cue built for?

It is set up as a playing cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

What kind of grip does it have?

The grip is linen wrap. Irish linen wicks sweat and stays tacky, leather is plush and premium, and a no-wrap finish is fast and needs no maintenance. If your hands run warm, linen is usually the safer pick.

Is Quarter King an authorized Griffin dealer?

Yes. We are an authorized Griffin dealer, so this cue is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty against warpage and defects in workmanship. Warranty claims go through us — you do not have to deal with the factory yourself.

How fast does it ship, and can I return it?

Shipping is free on orders over $98 in the contiguous US, $5.50 flat otherwise, and you get tracking as soon as it moves. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unchalked, unused product — contact us first for a return authorization so it is credited without delay.

Compatible Shafts

This cue uses a 5/16X18 Piloted joint, so these shafts thread straight onto it. Not sure? Send us the cue and we will confirm the fit before you buy.
