Description

The Joss JOS74 is a handcrafted pool cue from Joss Cues, the legendary American cue maker founded by Dan Janes. Joss cues are revered by players and collectors alike for their exceptional wood selection, traditional craftsmanship, and the distinctive Joss hit — a solid, woody feel with natural feedback that carbon fiber and modern materials cannot replicate.

The JOS74 features Joss’s signature attention to detail with beautiful exotic wood accents, precise inlay work, and a finish that showcases the natural beauty of the materials. Each Joss cue has its own personality — the wood grain patterns ensure no two are exactly alike.

  • Exotic wood accents with precise inlay work
  • Hand-selected hard rock maple shaft
  • Classic Joss solid, responsive playing characteristics
  • Irish linen wrap for traditional grip
  • American-made craftsmanship

    Ottima

I have to say, ha un suono particolare, la stecca è molto bella, scorre in maniera fluida e ti fa vincere tante partite!

  2. Tom S. –

    My Jos74

I have been shooting with a Shone cue for 25 years and decided to try this Jos74. I have to say it is quite comparable and I am really impressed with its feel. It’s still a learning process but I appreciate it. Thanks PoolDawg for your excellent service as advertised.

Weight & Balance

This cue is offered in WBJOS, Yes. A lighter cue is easier to accelerate for a whippy, spin-friendly stroke; a heavier cue plants more solidly and drives the cue ball with less effort. Most players settle between 19 and 20 ounces.

Questions about this cue

What joint does the Joss JOS74 Cue use?

It uses a 5/16X14 Piloted joint. That means any 5/16X14 Piloted shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against 5/16X14 Piloted before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

What shaft diameter is the Joss JOS74 Cue?

This cue ships with a 13.00mm shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Joss JOS74 Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Joss JOS74 Cue built for?

It is set up as a playing cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

What kind of grip does it have?

The grip is wrapless. Irish linen wicks sweat and stays tacky, leather is plush and premium, and a no-wrap finish is fast and needs no maintenance. If your hands run warm, linen is usually the safer pick.

Is Quarter King an authorized Joss dealer?

Yes. We are an authorized Joss dealer, so this cue is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty against warpage and defects in workmanship. Warranty claims go through us — you do not have to deal with the factory yourself.

How fast does it ship, and can I return it?

Shipping is free on orders over $98 in the contiguous US, $5.50 flat otherwise, and you get tracking as soon as it moves. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unchalked, unused product — contact us first for a return authorization so it is credited without delay.

Compatible Shafts

This cue uses a 5/16X14 Piloted joint, so these shafts thread straight onto it. Not sure? Send us the cue and we will confirm the fit before you buy.
