The Mezz ZZCP1 CP-21 Series is a Mezz playing cue sold by Quarter King Billiards. It has a Wavy joint and a 12.50mm classic wood shaft. It lists at $650, with free shipping over $98 and 30-day returns.

Description

Mezz’s CP-21 Series ZZCP1 breaks from the United joint used across most of the brand’s cues in favor of a wavy joint, giving it a different look and feel where the cue comes apart for travel. It is built on a 12.50mm classic wood shaft, narrower than the 13mm shafts used on Mezz’s break cues, wrapped in linen and finished in brown and black for a traditional two-tone look. That narrower shaft diameter tends to suit players who prefer a slimmer feel through the bridge hand over a fuller diameter shaft. Linen wrap in this brown and black combination also wears well without showing chalk as readily as a lighter finish. At about $650, the CP-21 Series ZZCP1 is currently out of stock.

Weight & Balance

This cue is offered in WBMEZZ, Yes. A lighter cue is easier to accelerate for a whippy, spin-friendly stroke; a heavier cue plants more solidly and drives the cue ball with less effort. Most players settle between 19 and 20 ounces.

Questions about this cue

What joint does the Mezz ZZCP1 CP-21 Series use?

It uses a Wavy joint. That means any Wavy shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against Wavy before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

What shaft diameter is the Mezz ZZCP1 CP-21 Series?

This cue ships with a 12.50mm shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Mezz ZZCP1 CP-21 Series comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Mezz ZZCP1 CP-21 Series built for?

It is set up as a playing cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

What kind of grip does it have?

The grip is linen wrap. Irish linen wicks sweat and stays tacky, leather is plush and premium, and a no-wrap finish is fast and needs no maintenance. If your hands run warm, linen is usually the safer pick.

Is Quarter King an authorized Mezz dealer?

Yes. We are an authorized Mezz dealer, so this cue is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty against warpage and defects in workmanship. Warranty claims go through us — you do not have to deal with the factory yourself.

How fast does it ship, and can I return it?

Shipping is free on orders over $98 in the contiguous US, $5.50 flat otherwise, and you get tracking as soon as it moves. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unchalked, unused product — contact us first for a return authorization so it is credited without delay. Because this one is over $600, a 10% restocking fee applies to the return.

Compatible Shafts

This cue uses a Wavy joint, so these shafts thread straight onto it. Not sure? Send us the cue and we will confirm the fit before you buy.
