  3. Beth K. –

    vikore shaft is a winner.

i like the vikore better than mcdermotts g core shaft. the workmanship in the butt section seems to have dropped off from years ago.

  4. Jordan F. –

  5. Sarah E. –

    Superb stick

I used to have a Viking pool cue back in the late 70’s and I loved it, the feel of this cue is great, am impressed by it

  6. Casey H. –

This thing looks and feels amazing

I got this cue and the Viking siege carbon fiber shaft to go on it. Highly endorse.

  7. Kate M. –

    Good cue to buy.

To be frank, i wanted something to use for a long time. It’s been 3 weeks playing with this cue and it’s fantastic. The style is very minimal which I like. I opted for the 20oz and the draw is decent. The follow through feels decent and the balance is pleasant.

Weight & Balance

This cue is offered in WBVIK, Yes. A lighter cue is easier to accelerate for a whippy, spin-friendly stroke; a heavier cue plants more solidly and drives the cue ball with less effort. Most players settle between 19 and 20 ounces.

Questions about this cue

What joint does the Viking VIK505 Cue use?

It uses a Viking Quick Release joint. That means any Viking Quick Release shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against Viking Quick Release before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

What shaft diameter is the Viking VIK505 Cue?

This cue ships with a 13.00mm shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Viking VIK505 Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Viking VIK505 Cue built for?

It is set up as a playing cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

What kind of grip does it have?

The grip is linen wrap. Irish linen wicks sweat and stays tacky, leather is plush and premium, and a no-wrap finish is fast and needs no maintenance. If your hands run warm, linen is usually the safer pick.

Is Quarter King an authorized Viking dealer?

Yes. We are an authorized Viking dealer, so this cue is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty against warpage and defects in workmanship. Warranty claims go through us — you do not have to deal with the factory yourself.

How fast does it ship, and can I return it?

Shipping is free on orders over $98 in the contiguous US, $5.50 flat otherwise, and you get tracking as soon as it moves. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unchalked, unused product — contact us first for a return authorization so it is credited without delay.

Compatible Shafts

This cue uses a Viking Quick Release joint, so these shafts thread straight onto it. Not sure? Send us the cue and we will confirm the fit before you buy.
