The Voodoo RIP series is the graveyard and death-themed half of Voodoo's Playing-cue range, five models in our lineup built around tombstone, snake and skull artwork rather than the skull-and-bone engraving of Bone or the blood-drop graphics of Blood. All five share a 29 inch hard rock maple shaft, a piloted 5/16x18 joint and the maker's 1 year warranty, and differ mainly in forearm and butt sleeve artwork and, on two newer models, wrap material. Below the lineup we cover the construction, the artwork on each model, joint and shaft compatibility and what to know before you order.
Every item is brand new and 100% genuine, backed by its full manufacturer warranty. Free shipping on orders over $98 (contiguous US) and 30-day returns. Every spec on this page is checked against the manufacturer's published data by our Wilmington, NC store team.
5.0/5 average from 36 customer reviews across Voodoo RIP Cues.
Voodoo is a themed playing-cue line built around laser and digitally engraved artwork, skulls, crows, cobwebs, skeletons and daggers worked into the forearm and butt sleeve of an otherwise conventional hard rock maple cue. Voodoo and the Outlaw line are built by the same maker, which is why the two share much of their hardware and finishing approach. As with the rest of the brand, the artwork is the point: a buyer picks a design first, and the shaft, joint and tip underneath stay largely the same from model to model.
RIP is one of Voodoo's named collections within its Playing-cue range, alongside Blood and Bone. Where Bone keeps to skull and bone engraving and Blood leans on red paint and blood-drop graphics, RIP centers on graveyard and death imagery, tombstones, cemetery scenes, snakes and a recurring cloaked Voodoo Queen or Princess character that shows up across more than one model in the collection. We carry all five RIP cues currently offered, the VOD28 Kiss of Death, the VOD35 Graveyard, the VOD36 Voodoo Queen, the VOD44 Serpent and the VOD45 Widow, and the VOD44 and VOD45 are the two newest additions to the collection, added after the original three.
Every RIP model ships with a 29 inch hard rock maple shaft cut to a 10 to 12 inch pro taper and fitted with a brass insert at the joint end. A pro taper holds the shaft close to its finished diameter through the last several inches in front of the bridge hand, the section that most affects how the shaft slides through a loose bridge on a long draw stroke, rather than tapering evenly from tip to joint the way an older conical shaft does. The shaft measures 13.00mm at the tip, a mid-range diameter between a thin low-deflection shaft and a heavier traditional 13mm to 14mm playing shaft, and the brass insert adds a small amount of forward weight that changes how the assembled cue balances compared to an all-wood joint collar.
Most RIP models carry a 13mm, 7-layer tip on a 1 inch fiber linen ferrule, a pairing built for consistent chalk hold and a firm hit rather than the softer feel of a single-layer leather tip. The VOD28 Kiss of Death is the one exception, fitted with a 13mm, 7-layer boar skin tip rather than the standard leather layup used on the rest of the line. The joint on every RIP model is a piloted 5/16x18 pin, one of the two most common playing-cue joints in the sport, so a shaft that wears out or breaks can be replaced from the wider pool of 5/16x18 shafts on the market. Butt plates are stainless steel, most stamped or etched with the Voodoo logo, and the bumper is a Voodoo-branded rubber plug on every model except the VOD28, which uses a black rubber bumper with a red Voodoo heart design instead.
All five RIP cues we carry use a black leather wrap, glued over the butt so the grip stays put through a hard stroke and does not slide the way a bare finish can. Weight on all five is adjustable through a removable bolt in the butt, the same system used across the manufacturer's other cue lines. For a plain-language rundown of what ferrule, taper, wrap and joint pin mean for how a cue plays, our glossary covers each of these terms.
The table below lists the shaft, wrap, available weights, price and stock status we have on file for each RIP model, and the paragraphs after it describe what makes each design different.

The VOD28 Kiss of Death engraves a black stained maple forearm and matching butt sleeve with a Vector-based digital design under the Kiss of Death name, skips a joint collar entirely, and pairs its boar skin tip with a distinct black rubber bumper carrying a red Voodoo heart rather than the plain rubber plug used elsewhere in the line.
The VOD35 Graveyard sets a black forearm with a white cemetery overlay design, framed by a trim detail the maker calls Voodoo collars, against a purple stained butt sleeve carrying a white-painted Voodoo character and logo. A black collar rings the joint, a detail unique to this model within the RIP line.
The VOD36 Voodoo Queen stains both forearm and butt sleeve purple, with snakes alternating against skulls and crossbones on the forearm and the Voodoo Queen character herself worked into the sleeve, under a stainless butt plate etched with the Voodoo logo.
The VOD44 Serpent is one of the two newest RIP models, finished in black with a lime green engraved Voodoo logo and serpent on the forearm and a matching lime green skull in a top hat on the sleeve, a brighter accent color than the rest of the collection uses.
The VOD45 Widow is the other new addition, with a grey forearm carrying white spiderwebs and a black widow spider design, paired with a purple and grey sleeve showing a black and white Voodoo Princess character alongside a purple snake.
Cue makers reach for leather over a woven wrap when they want a grip that grows tackier under a warm hand rather than slicker, which is why the RIP line uses it across the board. Each RIP cue we carry pairs that wrap with a 13mm seven-layer Action tip on a one-inch fiber linen ferrule, a 29-inch hard rock maple shaft with a 10 to 12-inch pro taper, and a 5/16x18 piloted joint, so the feel is consistent from the grip forward no matter which serpent-and-skull graphic you choose.
All five RIP cues in our lineup share the same piloted 5/16x18 joint and the same 13.00mm shaft diameter, so any of the five connects to other 5/16x18 pin cues and accepts other 13.00mm shafts without an adapter. A player who wants to try a different hit without replacing the whole cue can look at our shafts category for other 5/16x18 options in a comparable diameter. For a wider view of joint styles across every brand we carry, the 5/16x18 joint page lists every cue that shares this pin, and the 13.00mm shaft size page groups every cue we sell in that diameter, RIP included. Shoppers weighing a wood shaft against a carbon option can browse the classic wood shaft type page, since all five RIP cues use a traditional wood shaft rather than a composite one, and all five share the same black leather grip, so the choice comes down to the artwork and colour rather than the wrap.
RIP cues suit a player who wants graveyard or death-themed artwork on a maple playing cue without stepping up to custom pricing. On the AZBilliards forums, Voodoo comes up as a graphics-forward starter line whose value draws in newer players building a first break-or-play setup. The same threads note that a 1 year warranty is shorter than the lifetime coverage some step-up brands offer, so a shopper choosing between two or three themed lines with similar pricing should weigh warranty length alongside the artwork. Within the RIP line itself, the choice among the five models is almost entirely about which design and color scheme fits your taste, since the shaft, joint and tip stay the same across the collection.
Every RIP model carries the manufacturer's 1 year warranty against defects in craftsmanship. None of the five ship with a case, joint protectors or a spare shaft, so budget for those separately if you do not already own them, and the VOD28 additionally does not include a shaft extension. Because the RIP artwork is engraved or digitally printed into the wood rather than applied as a simple decal, wipe the forearm and sleeve clean after chalk builds up instead of scrubbing it, which keeps the design looking sharp for longer.
Browse the rest of the Voodoo Cues lineup for the Blood and Bone collections alongside RIP, or see every option in Pool Cues if you are still comparing brands. Every RIP cue we carry uses the same 5/16x18 piloted joint and black leather wrap, so a player can move between the graphics in the line without changing how the cue threads together or feels in the grip.
The joint is what decides whether a shaft fits, and every cue in Voodoo RIP Cues uses the 5/16X18 Piloted pin. That is the same 5/16X18 Piloted pin used across Athena, Eight Ball Mafia, Griffin, Outlaw and Talon, so shafts move between them — always confirm the exact pin before buying.
It is one of Voodoo's Playing-cue collections, built around graveyard and death-themed artwork. We carry all five current RIP models: VOD28, VOD35, VOD36, VOD44 and VOD45.
A piloted 5/16x18 pin on every model, one of the most common playing-cue joints, so replacement shafts are widely available.
Mainly the artwork and, on two models, the wrap. VOD28, VOD35 and VOD36 use a black leather wrap; the newer VOD44 and VOD45 use a linen wrap. Shaft and joint are the same across all five.
The manufacturer backs every RIP cue with a 1 year warranty against defects in craftsmanship.
No. None of the five RIP models include a case, joint protectors or a spare shaft in the box.
