Description

Black and purple make up the color scheme on the Voodoo VOD28, part of the Rip series and one of only a couple of purple options in the Voodoo catalog. The build follows the brand’s standard specs: a 29-inch, 13.00mm hard rock maple shaft with a 10 to 12 inch pro taper, a brass insert, a leather wrap, and a piloted 5/16×18 joint for consistent alignment. It also carries the laser-etched skull and tattoo artwork found across the line. At about $270 and in stock now, the VOD28 suits a player who wants a distinct look at the table without stepping outside Voodoo’s usual construction and price range.

This cue is offered in WBOL, Yes. A lighter cue is easier to accelerate for a whippy, spin-friendly stroke; a heavier cue plants more solidly and drives the cue ball with less effort. Most players settle between 19 and 20 ounces.

Questions about this cue

What joint does the Voodoo VOD28 Cue use?

It uses a Piloted 5/16 x 18 joint. That means any Piloted 5/16 x 18 shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against Piloted 5/16 x 18 before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

What shaft diameter is the Voodoo VOD28 Cue?

This cue ships with a 29" hard rock maple, 10 - 12" pro taper with a brass insert shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Voodoo VOD28 Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Voodoo VOD28 Cue built for?

It is set up as a playing cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.

Is Quarter King an authorized Voodoo dealer?

Yes. We are an authorized Voodoo dealer, so this cue is genuine and carries the full manufacturer warranty against warpage and defects in workmanship. Warranty claims go through us — you do not have to deal with the factory yourself.

How fast does it ship, and can I return it?

Shipping is free on orders over $98 in the contiguous US, $5.50 flat otherwise, and you get tracking as soon as it moves. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery on unchalked, unused product — contact us first for a return authorization so it is credited without delay.

Compatible Shafts

This cue uses a 5/16X18 Piloted joint, so these shafts thread straight onto it. Not sure? Send us the cue and we will confirm the fit before you buy.
