The Players JB528 Heavy Hitter Jump/Break Cue is a Players break, jump cue sold by Quarter King Billiards. It has a quick-release joint and a 13.00mm classic wood shaft. It is in stock at $230, with free shipping over $98 and 30-day returns.

Description

True to its Heavy Hitter name, the JB528 is built for break shots, using the same Turbo-Lock joint system as the rest of the JB series for quick, secure assembly rather than a standard 5/16×18 pin. It runs a 13mm Classic Wood shaft in a black finish. At about $230, it is priced in line with the JB6 and its other siblings in the break/jump lineup. Worth a look for a player who wants a cue specifically dedicated to breaking hard rather than adapting a playing cue for the job. Currently in stock.

Questions about this cue

What joint does the Players JB528 Heavy Hitter Jump/Break Cue use?

It uses a quick-release joint. That means any quick-release shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against quick-release before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

What shaft diameter is the Players JB528 Heavy Hitter Jump/Break Cue?

This cue ships with a 13.00mm shaft. Thinner shafts put more spin on the cue ball and feel crisper through the stroke; larger diameters feel fuller and are more forgiving on off-centre hits. Neither is better — it comes down to how you like the cue to hit.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Players JB528 Heavy Hitter Jump/Break Cue comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.

What is the Players JB528 Heavy Hitter Jump/Break Cue built for?

It is set up as a break, jump cue. Playing cues are balanced for control on shot-making, break cues are heavier with a harder tip for power transfer, and jump cues are short and light to get the cue ball airborne. Using the right one also protects your playing cue from break wear.
