Description

The Viking Impero IM2004 combines a premium birdseye maple forearm with a West African ebony sleeve and 160 inlays in Ghost Canyon, gold and West African ebony. Rings in Ghost Canyon, brass and white IMA complete the inlay work, and a Khaki stain and double pressed Irish linen wrap finish the handle.

It plays with Viking’s ViKORE performance shaft in hard rock maple, with a 12 to 14 inch pro taper, a Tiger Everest laminated tip and a Viking SUPER ferrule that is capped and threaded onto the shaft. The joint is high impact white IMA with a flat face and brass insert, paired with a stainless steel Viking 5/16 x 18 quick release pin. The butt plate is high impact modified acrylic with the Viking logo, and the bumper is threaded rubber.

The finish is a three coat ultra-violet urethane, the lifetime warranty includes warpage, and weight can be selected from 18 to 21 ounces, with 19 ounces as the standard.

This cue is offered in 18 oz, 18.5 oz, 19 oz, 19.5 oz, 20 oz, 20.5 oz, 21 oz. A lighter cue is easier to accelerate for a whippy, spin-friendly stroke; a heavier cue plants more solidly and drives the cue ball with less effort. Most players settle between 19 and 20 ounces.

What joint does the Viking Impero IM2004 use?

It uses a Viking Quick Release joint. That means any Viking Quick Release shaft will thread straight onto this butt, so you can add a spare or upgrade later without changing cues. If you are matching a shaft you already own, check its pin against Viking Quick Release before ordering — joints are not cross-compatible.

Is this a carbon fiber or wood shaft cue?

The Viking Impero IM2004 comes with a Classic Wood shaft. Carbon fiber will not warp, ignores humidity and deflects less; quality maple gives the traditional feel a lot of players still prefer. Both play at a high level, so pick the one that matches how you want the cue to feel.
