The Jayson Shaw Signature Cues carry 3 Meucci cues in our catalog, priced from about $550 up to about $1,130, all currently in stock. Each uses the same 5/16x18 joint and 12.50mm Classic Wood Pro Shaft as the rest of the Meucci catalog we carry. Below is the current lineup; further down we cover the shaft and joint spec, Meucci's warranty terms, and where the brand is built.
Quarter King Billiards is an authorized Meucci dealer. Free shipping on orders over $98 (contiguous US) and 30-day returns. Every spec on this page is checked against the manufacturer's published data by our Wilmington, NC store team.
Meucci's cuemaking history goes back to 1960, when Bob Meucci started building cues in the Chicago area, working out of his father's tool-and-die shop. The company we know today formed in 1975 as Meucci Originals, Inc. in Olive Branch, Mississippi, and has manufactured out of Byhalia, Mississippi, near Memphis, Tennessee, since 2006. Collectors also point to a still earlier Meucci company, B.M.C. (Bob Meucci Customs), which Bob Meucci formed in Glenview, Illinois, in 1969, before the modern Meucci Originals brand launched in 1975. Bob Meucci was individually inducted into the International Cuemakers Hall of Fame in 2006, recognized for pioneering high-precision metal-lathe cuemaking and for being among the first cuemakers to sell a cue for a five-figure price. Bob Meucci moved out of day-to-day ownership in 2022 and now works as a designer and brand ambassador, with a newer group of cuemakers handling daily production. Every cue in this line, like the rest of Meucci's catalog, is built in the USA.
All three cues in the Jayson Shaw Signature line use Meucci's Classic Wood Pro Shaft at 12.50mm. Meucci's own spec for this shaft calls it a single solid piece of hard rock maple with a full 14-inch Pro Taper, engineered for low effective deflection so the tip resists being pushed off line under english.
Meucci also builds a Kielwood version of the Pro Shaft, made from hard maple that has gone through torrefaction, a heat-treating process the company says gives the shaft superior strength and a stiffer hit than the standard Pro Shaft, while keeping the same low-deflection design. That is a separate shaft option beyond the standard 12.50mm Classic Wood shaft carried on all three cues here.
Meucci frames its overall design, joint and shaft together, as built for a smoother kind of power that needs less physical effort to generate the same spin and pace, describing it as "just a natural transfer of energy that lets you do more with less strain."
We carry three cues under the Jayson Shaw Signature name: MEJSS at about $550, MEJS01 at about $760, and MEJS02 at about $1,130. All three share the 5/16x18 joint and 12.50mm Classic Wood shaft spec used across the rest of the line, and all three currently show as in stock. The three cues span a wide price range for a three-model line, against an overall Meucci price band in our catalog of about $175 up to about $1,520 with a median near $950.
MEJSS is built around a smoke-stained, highly figured birdseye maple forearm and matching butt sleeve, with a cream collar and a black butt plate carrying the Meucci logo. It rides the standard 12.50mm Classic Wood Pro Shaft behind a 1/2 inch hydraulic ferrule and a 12.5mm Ultra Skin Medium tip, on the 5/16x18 joint, with an Everlock weight bolt for balance adjustment. Full photos and stock status are on the Meucci MEJSS Jayson Shaw cue page.
MEJS01 moves to a grey-stained forearm with green, maple and black spliced points, carried into a matching grey-stained butt sleeve with black rectangles separated by green and maple splices, a cream-and-black collar with a silver ring, and a cream butt plate with the Meucci logo in black. Shaft, joint, ferrule and tip match the rest of the line. See the Meucci MEJS01 cue listing for current availability.
MEJS02 is the most decorated build in the line, built on rosewood with cream downward points outlined in black pinstripes and topped with New Zealand paua shell diamonds, a design carried through to the butt sleeve in a black-stained rosewood sleeve with matching cream windows, pinstripes and paua shell diamonds top and bottom. It uses the same 12.50mm Classic Wood Pro Shaft, 5/16x18 joint and Everlock weight system as MEJSS and MEJS01. Details and stock are on the Meucci MEJS02 Jayson Shaw cue page.
MEJSS, MEJS01, and MEJS02 all use Meucci's 5/16x18 wood-to-wood joint and a 12.50mm Classic Wood shaft, the same combination used on 49 of the 54 Meucci products we carry. That means any of these three cues will accept a spare Meucci shaft or extension built to that spec. See the 5/16x18 joint and 12.50mm shaft pages for other Meucci and non-Meucci cues sharing this fit, and our shafts category for spares.
Rosewood, the forearm and sleeve wood on MEJS02, is a dense tropical hardwood cuemakers favor for its dark, tight grain and its weight, which lets a cuemaker build a heavier point section without needing to thicken the wood itself. Birdseye maple, the wood behind MEJSS, is prized for the opposite reason: it is a lighter-colored domestic wood whose small swirling grain figure gives a busy, decorative look without any inlay work at all.
Paua shell, the material set into the MEJS02 points and butt sleeve as diamonds, is a New Zealand abalone shell cuemakers cut into inlay pieces for its iridescent, shifting color under light, a look no dyed veneer can fully copy. It is a decorative material rather than a structural one, set into the wood rather than replacing it.
All three cues in this line wrap in Irish linen under a urethane coat, the same grip treatment Meucci uses across most of its catalog, chosen because the woven linen thread grips a sweaty hand better than a smooth synthetic wrap while the coating on top keeps that grip from wearing thin with use. For definitions of terms like these, see our cue glossary.
MEJS01's forearm uses a different technique again, splicing rather than veneer work: thin wedges of green-stained maple, natural maple and black-stained maple are cut and glued together into the point shape before the forearm is turned round, so the color boundaries run the full depth of the wood instead of sitting on the surface the way a veneer line does. It is a slower, more labor-intensive way to build a point pattern, and it is part of why a spliced-point cue costs more to build than a plain, single-wood forearm.
Because all three cues in this line share Meucci's standard shaft and joint, it suits a player who already likes, or wants to try, the low-effort playing feel Meucci builds across its catalog, a wood-to-wood joint and hard-maple Pro Shaft rather than a stiff carbon-fiber build. All three Jayson Shaw Signature cues are currently in stock, which is not the case across every Meucci series we carry.
Every Meucci cue, including this line, carries a Limited 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship, with Meucci choosing to repair, replace, or refund at its discretion. The warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser with proof of purchase. It does not cover warping in wood parts, ordinary wear on the tip, ferrule, wrap, or bumper, or damage from misuse, accidents, or unauthorized changes. Meucci also warns that counterfeit cues carrying its name exist, and says the safest way to know you have a genuine cue is to buy direct from the factory or from an Authorized Dealer. Quarter King Billiards is an authorized Meucci dealer, and cues we sell register through Meucci's dealer-warranty portal.
Meucci's current Pro Team, as listed on its own site, includes Tyler Styer, Billy Thorpe, Tony Chohan, Kaylee McIntosh Driskell, LoreeJon Brown, Mike Massey, Corey Deuel, Eric Roberts, and Jonathan Pinegar; that roster reflects the players Meucci currently promotes across its catalog as a whole. On the AZBilliards forums, opinions of the Meucci shaft and joint feel split into two camps: players who like the traditional, slightly whippy character of the shaft, and players used to stiff, ultra-low-deflection cues who say it won't suit them. Some threads also raise concerns about a drop in build quality compared with Meucci's earlier decades. This is player opinion shared online, not a manufacturer statement, and it will not match every buyer's experience.
An older AZBilliards thread from when Jayson Shaw first picked up a Meucci gives some background on where this line's name comes from: posters described the cue he was playing at the time as wrapless with heavy inlay work and fitted with Meucci's standard Pro Shaft, noting he had been sponsored by another cue maker before that and that the Meucci build was described as a stand-in ahead of a personal cue Bob Meucci intended to make for him. That thread reflects a moment in Meucci's sponsorship history rather than a current relationship, and it should not be read as saying Jayson Shaw plays a Meucci cue today.
The same 2015 thread also touched on a detail that applies to most Meucci cues of that era, not just this one: several posters pointed out that Meucci's wraps were, as one put it, technically wrapless too, since the linen was sealed under a clear urethane coating rather than left exposed, and that coating can crack on older cues even though it holds up well on current production. That is consistent with the coated Irish linen wrap used on all three Jayson Shaw Signature cues we carry today.
See the rest of Meucci's cues in the Meucci Pool Cues category, or browse the full Pool Cues selection for every brand we carry.
The joint is what decides whether a shaft fits, and every cue in Meucci Jayson Shaw Signature Cues uses the 5/16X18 pin. That is the same 5/16X18 pin used across Action, Players, Rage, Valhalla and Xcel, so shafts move between them — always confirm the exact pin before buying.
All three cues, MEJSS, MEJS01, and MEJS02, use Meucci's 5/16x18 joint and a 12.50mm Classic Wood Pro Shaft, the same core spec as most Meucci cues we carry.
Meucci builds its cues in Byhalia, Mississippi, near Memphis, Tennessee. Every Meucci cue, including this line, is made in the USA.
Meucci gives a one-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects from the date of purchase, covering the original purchaser only. It excludes normal wear parts like the tip and wrap.
Meucci says the safest way is to buy direct from the factory or through an Authorized Dealer, since counterfeit Meucci cues exist. Quarter King Billiards is an authorized Meucci dealer.
Meucci's own Pro Team page, current as of September 2026, does not list Jayson Shaw among its sponsored players. These cues carry his name as a signature line in our catalog, but the manufacturer's site does not state he currently plays them.
