Meucci's Hi-Pro line is a plain-spoken professional cue, built around the same Pro Shaft and wood-to-wood joint as the rest of the catalog, without the card-suit or casino-theme inlay work Meucci uses elsewhere. We carry 2 Hi-Pro cues, priced from about $870 up to about $900, and both currently show as out of stock. Both use a 5/16x18 joint and a 12.50mm Classic Wood shaft, so switching between the two models means no relearning the hit. Below is the current Hi-Pro lineup; further down we cover the shaft construction, joint spec, and Meucci's warranty terms.
Quarter King Billiards is an authorized Meucci dealer. Free shipping on orders over $98 (contiguous US) and 30-day returns. Every spec on this page is checked against the manufacturer's published data by our Wilmington, NC store team.
Meucci Cues got its start in 1960, when Bob Meucci began building cues out of his father's tool-and-die shop in the Chicago area. The company took its modern form in 1975 as Meucci Originals, Inc., in Olive Branch, Mississippi, and production has run out of Byhalia, Mississippi, about 30 minutes from downtown Memphis, since 2006. Collectors trace the name back further still, to B.M.C., Bob Meucci Customs, which Bob Meucci formed in Glenview, Illinois, in 1969, a company many consider the first true Meucci. Bob Meucci stepped back from day-to-day ownership in 2022, but he still works with the company as a designer and brand ambassador while a newer generation of cuemakers runs the shop. Every Meucci cue, including the Hi-Pro models on this page, is made in the USA.
The Hi-Pro is Meucci's plain-spoken professional cue: a straightforward build meant to play rather than to be a display piece. It sits below the middle of the Meucci price band we carry, which runs from about $175 up to about $1,520 with a median near $950, priced above the $620 Economy line and well below the brand's card-suit and casino-theme collections.
Every Hi-Pro cue in our stock ships with Meucci's standard shaft, which our own product data lists as Classic Wood at 12.50mm. Meucci's own description of this shaft, which it calls simply The Pro, says it is turned from a single solid piece of hard rock maple, built to a full 12.5mm diameter with a 14-inch Pro Taper, and engineered for low effective deflection. In practice, that means the shaft resists the cue ball drifting off your intended line when you apply english, without moving to a hollow carbon-fiber core to get there.
Meucci also builds a Kielwood version of the Pro Shaft for players who want more stiffness in the same low-deflection design. It starts from the same hard maple, but the wood goes through torrefaction, a heat-treating process Meucci says gives it superior strength and a stiffer hit than the standard Pro Shaft carried on both Hi-Pro cues in our catalog, while keeping the same low-deflection profile.
Meucci builds its cues around a 5/16x18 wood-to-wood joint, the spec used on both Hi-Pro cues we carry. Meucci describes its own cues as built for a smoother kind of power, from what it calls "just a natural transfer of energy that lets you do more with less strain," crediting that feel to the combination of the wood-to-wood joint, the Pro Shaft, and a lightweight ferrule.
The entry point of the line, MEHP01, is Meucci's Hi-Pro 1. Meucci's own copy for this build describes a curly maple forearm, a black composite butt sleeve, and a black Irish linen wrap with white flecks, and calls it "a professional pool cue designed to perform."
MEHP03 is the second build in the line, priced a step above the MEHP01. It carries the same 5/16x18 joint and 12.50mm Classic Wood shaft as its Hi-Pro sibling, keeping the same taper and hit across both cues; we don't have a manufacturer-published finish description specific to this SKU, so we're sticking to the shared spec above rather than guessing at cosmetic detail. Both Hi-Pro cues currently show as out of stock in our system.
MEHP01 pairs a natural-stained birdseye maple forearm with four ebony-colored points outlined in white, green, red and black veneers, each set with a synthetic mother-of-pearl diamond and dot. The butt sleeve carries the same ebony-stained maple with matching mother-of-pearl windows, closed off by a black composite butt plate with a white ring and the Meucci logo. It ships on the 12.50mm Classic Wood Pro Shaft behind a 1/2 inch hydraulic ferrule and a 12.5mm Ultra Skin Medium tip, on Meucci's 5/16x18 joint, with a black collar and an Everlock weight bolt so the balance can be adjusted without sending the cue back to the factory. Meucci's own copy for this build calls it simply a professional pool cue designed to perform. See the full Meucci MEHP01 Hi-Pro cue listing for photos and current stock.
MEHP03 swaps the point color for a lightly stained birdseye maple forearm with four ebony-colored points set with white and blue acrylic diamonds, carried through to a lightly stained maple butt sleeve with matching blue acrylic circles, a blue-mirror collar, and a black composite butt plate with a white collar, blue acrylic windows and a silver Meucci logo. The shaft, ferrule, tip, joint and Everlock weight system match MEHP01. Meucci currently lists this same forearm and sleeve design on its own site in three accent colorways rather than just the one, so the blue treatment on our MEHP03 is one option out of a small family Meucci still offers. Full detail and stock are on the Meucci MEHP03 Hi-Pro cue page.
Both Hi-Pro cues we stock use Meucci's 5/16x18 joint pin and a 12.50mm Classic Wood shaft, matching the spec used across the bulk of the Meucci catalog we carry: 49 of our 54 Meucci products use the 5/16x18 joint, and 43 use a 12.50mm shaft. Both also come with a Linen Wrap handle rather than a bare, wrapless grip, and their finish colors run brown, black, and tan across the two models. If you already own a Meucci shaft or extension in that spec, it will thread onto either Hi-Pro cue. See the full 5/16x18 joint and 12.50mm shaft pages for other cues that share this fit, or browse our shafts category for replacement and upgrade shafts in this size.
Birdseye maple is the forearm wood on both Hi-Pro cues, named for the small swirling figure that shows up in the grain once the wood is cut and finished, a look cuemakers prize because it reads as busy and eye-catching without needing any inlay work to carry the design. The ebony-colored points on both models are a stain and veneer treatment applied over that same maple rather than a separate piece of true ebony wood, which is how Meucci gets a dark, high-contrast point pattern while keeping the forearm structure consistent front to back.
Both Hi-Pro cues wrap in Irish linen with a urethane coating over it, a grip material cuemakers have used for generations because raw linen thread bites into a sweaty palm rather than sliding, and the coating on top keeps that grip from soaking up moisture and wearing thin the way an untreated wrap eventually does.
At the business end, a 1/2 inch hydraulic ferrule sits between the shaft wood and the tip, a component whose job is to transfer the tip compression into the shaft without cracking, and Meucci fits it with a 12.5mm Ultra Skin Medium tip, a multi-layered leather tip built to compress evenly under a firm hit rather than mushrooming out of shape the way a single-piece tip can over time. For more terms like these, see our cue glossary.
Meucci pitches its shaft-and-joint combination at players who want to swing with less effort for the same power and spin, rather than players hunting for the stiffest possible carbon-fiber hit. Published retail descriptions of the brand frame the Meucci hit as smooth and fluid rather than the crisp, low-deflection feel some carbon shafts are built around. That makes the Hi-Pro a reasonable fit for a player already comfortable with a traditional maple-shaft feel who wants that feel in a clean, no-inlay Meucci build rather than a decorative one.
Hi-Pro cues carry the same Limited 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty as the rest of the Meucci range, running from the purchase date and covering defects in materials and workmanship. At its discretion, Meucci will repair, replace, or refund a covered claim at the original purchase price; coverage applies only to the original purchaser with proof of purchase and does not transfer to a later owner. It excludes warpage in wood parts, normal wear on the tip, ferrule, finish, wrap, and bumper, damage from misuse or accidents, unauthorized modifications, and exposure to extreme temperature or humidity. Meucci also states plainly that the surest way to know you have a genuine cue is to buy from the factory or through an Authorized Dealer, since counterfeit Meucci cues exist in the market. Quarter King Billiards is an authorized Meucci dealer, and cues bought through an authorized dealer are registered through Meucci's dealer-warranty portal rather than the direct-purchase portal Meucci uses for its own site.
Meucci's current Pro Team, per the company's own roster, includes Tyler Styer, a two-time Team USA Mosconi Cup champion in 2018 and 2019; six-time Mosconi Cup player Billy Thorpe; Tony Chohan; Kaylee McIntosh Driskell; LoreeJon Brown, inducted into both the BCA and WPBA Halls of Fame; Mike Massey; Corey Deuel; Eric Roberts; and Jonathan Pinegar. That roster represents the brand across its whole catalog rather than the Hi-Pro line specifically. Everyday player opinion on the AZBilliards forums is more mixed: some players specifically prefer the traditional character of Meucci's shaft, describing it as a bit "whippy" compared with stiffer low-deflection designs, and say they like that trait, while players who have moved to ultra-stiff, ultra-low-deflection shafts elsewhere say the Meucci feel won't be for them. Other threads raise concerns that Meucci's build quality has slipped compared with the brand's earlier decades. This is community opinion, not a manufacturer claim, and it varies from player to player.
A more recent buyer report on the AZBilliards forums backs that up in practice: after a six-month build wait, one player received a new Hi-Pro 1 upgraded with a 30 inch Meucci Carbon Pro shaft and called the butt, shaft, extension and joint protectors flawless, saying the cue held up well next to a custom cue and describing the balance and stroke as easy and level. That review covers one build with an upgraded shaft rather than the standard Classic Wood spec both Hi-Pro cues ship with, but it lines up with the wider feedback that Meucci's fit and finish have improved under its current ownership.
For the rest of Meucci's professional and collector cues, see the full Meucci Pool Cues selection, or browse the Meucci brand page for shafts and accessories too. The main pool cues category is the place to weigh a Hi-Pro against every other brand we stock.

Both Hi-Pro models use Meucci's 5/16x18 wood-to-wood joint, the same pin used across most of the Meucci cues we stock.
