Meucci's Sneaky Pete line carries 4 cues in our catalog, priced from about $460 up to about $515, with 1 in stock. The shaft splits between Carbon Fiber and Classic Wood depending on the model, and three of the four skip the wrap entirely for a plain-finish look. Below is the current lineup, followed by the shaft, joint, and warranty details.

Bob Meucci began building cues independently in 1960, working out of his father's tool-and-die shop near Chicago. The company took its current form in 1975 as Meucci Originals, Inc., in Olive Branch, Mississippi, and has manufactured in Byhalia, Mississippi, near Memphis, Tennessee, since 2006. Every Meucci cue, Sneaky Pete included, is made in the USA. Bob Meucci moved out of day-to-day ownership in 2022, staying on as a designer and brand ambassador while a newer generation of cuemakers runs production.
Our four Sneaky Pete cues split evenly between two shaft types: two use the Classic Wood Pro Shaft, which Meucci builds from a single piece of solid hard rock maple with a 14-inch Pro Taper for low effective deflection, and two use the Carbon Fiber Pro shaft. Meucci describes the Carbon Pro's layup as multi-directional filaments creating a homogenous spine, meaning the shaft is built for consistent stiffness along its length, wrapped around a polyurethane foam core and plugged with maple at both ends, which Meucci says avoids the hollow clinking sound some carbon shafts have.
Meucci also sells a Kielwood version of the standard Pro Shaft, hard maple heat-treated through torrefaction, which the company says gives superior strength and a stiffer hit than the standard Classic Wood shaft while keeping the same low-deflection design. It is a third shaft option beyond the two represented in our current Sneaky Pete stock.
MESPBB and MESPBW are two of the four builds in the line, priced between roughly $490 and $515.
MESPW carries a 5/16x18 joint, per our catalog data, at about $515.
MESPN is the plainest build in the line and the one with a manufacturer description we could confirm. Meucci's own copy for its Unmarked Sneaky Pete calls it "crafted with stealth in mind," featuring 4 rosewood points, a maple forearm, a rosewood bottom piece, and no wrap. Only one of the four Sneaky Pete cues we carry currently shows in stock, and the line runs cheaper than the rest of Meucci's catalog: our overall Meucci price band spans about $175 to about $1,520 with a median near $950, while every Sneaky Pete cue here sits under $520.
MESPN pairs a natural maple forearm with four rosewood points and a black collar, carried into a matching rosewood butt sleeve for visual continuity, with no wrap on the handle at all so the underlying forearm material shows straight through. It is one of two Sneaky Pete cues on our system with a Classic Wood shaft rather than carbon, at 12.50mm, on Meucci's 5/16x18 joint. See the Meucci MESPN Sneaky Pete cue page for current stock.
MESPW carries the same natural maple forearm with four rosewood points, a plain rosewood butt sleeve, no collar and no wrap, on the same Classic Wood Pro Shaft and 5/16x18 joint as MESPN. A 1/2 inch hydraulic ferrule and a 12.5mm Ultra Skin Medium tip finish the working end. Full detail is on the Meucci MESPW Sneaky Pete cue page.
MESPBB moves to a maple forearm with black points and a black butt sleeve and butt plate, no collar, on Meucci's carbon-fiber-type shaft platform at 12.50mm rather than the Classic Wood shaft used on MESPN and MESPW, behind a 1/2 inch white polycarbonate ferrule and the same 12.5mm Ultra Skin Medium tip. See the Meucci MESPBB Sneaky Pete cue listing.
MESPBW shares the MESPBB black-point maple forearm and black butt sleeve and plate, and our system records it as wrapless as well, on the same carbon-fiber-type shaft and 1/2 inch white polycarbonate ferrule. See the Meucci MESPBW Sneaky Pete cue page for stock.
Two of our four Sneaky Pete cues, MESPN and MESPW, run Meucci's Classic Wood Pro Shaft, a single piece of solid hard rock maple built for the traditional feel most players associate with a house-cue-style build. The other two, MESPBB and MESPBW, are listed on a carbon-fiber shaft platform instead, the same multi-directional filament-and-foam-core construction Meucci uses across its Carbon Pro line, built specifically so it does not sound hollow at impact the way some other brands' carbon shafts can. Because a sneaky pete is meant to blend in rather than announce itself, the choice here comes down to shaft feel rather than looks: a player who wants the plain-cue look with the same maple hit as a traditional house cue should look at MESPN or MESPW, while a player who wants that low-key look paired with a carbon shaft should look at MESPBB or MESPBW.
All four Sneaky Pete cues use Meucci's 5/16x18 wood-to-wood joint, matching 49 of the 54 Meucci products we carry, all at a 12.50mm shaft diameter. Three of the four skip the wrap for a plain finish, part of the traditional sneaky pete look, a cue built to not look like a dedicated pool cue. See the 5/16x18 joint, Classic Wood, Carbon Fiber, and wrapless pages for other cues sharing these specs, or our shafts category for spares.
Rosewood, the point and sleeve wood on MESPN and MESPW, is a dense, dark tropical hardwood cuemakers use for contrast against a lighter maple forearm without needing paint, dye or inlay work to create that contrast. Maple, the base wood on all four Sneaky Pete cues, is the same domestic hardwood Meucci turns into its Pro Shaft, chosen for the forearm here for its light color and stable, tight grain.
Going without a wrap, as all four cues in this line effectively do, means the bare wood or a painted finish sits directly under the player's grip hand rather than a linen or leather covering. That is the defining trait of a sneaky pete design generally, a cue built to look like a plain house cue rather than a decorated playing cue, even when, as here, the shaft and joint underneath match Meucci's standard-production spec. See our cue glossary for more on wrap styles and other cue terms.
At the tip end, all four cues use a 12.5mm Ultra Skin Medium tip, a multi-layered leather tip built to compress evenly rather than mushroom with use, mounted on either a 1/2 inch hydraulic ferrule on MESPN and MESPW or a 1/2 inch white polycarbonate ferrule on MESPBB and MESPBW, the ferrule material differing by shaft type rather than by any difference in tip performance.
A sneaky pete is built for a player who wants a cue that doesn't look like a dedicated money cue at the table. Meucci layers its usual low-effort playing feel, from the wood-to-wood joint and Pro Shaft, onto that plain-finish build; the company frames the combination as delivering power and spin with less physical strain, describing it as "just a natural transfer of energy that lets you do more with less strain."
Sneaky Pete cues carry Meucci's standard Limited 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship, with Meucci choosing to repair, replace, or refund at its discretion. It covers only the original purchaser with proof of purchase and excludes wood warpage, ordinary wear on the tip, ferrule, finish, wrap, and bumper, and damage from misuse or unauthorized modification. Because counterfeit cues bearing the Meucci name circulate, Meucci recommends buying direct from the factory or through an Authorized Dealer. Quarter King Billiards is an authorized Meucci dealer, and Sneaky Pete cues bought here register through Meucci's dealer-warranty portal rather than the direct-purchase portal used on meuccicues.com.
Meucci's current Pro Team, per its own site, includes Tyler Styer, Billy Thorpe, Tony Chohan, Kaylee McIntosh Driskell, LoreeJon Brown, Mike Massey, Corey Deuel, Eric Roberts, and Jonathan Pinegar, a roster the brand promotes across its whole catalog rather than the Sneaky Pete line specifically. Meucci's shaft feel is a recurring debate on the AZBilliards forums: some players like the traditional character of the shaft, describing it as a bit whippy next to stiffer modern designs, while players attached to ultra-low-deflection carbon shafts say it won't suit them. A few threads also flag concerns about build-quality consistency compared with Meucci's earlier decades. This is community opinion, not a manufacturer statement.
The Sneaky Pete name still draws steady traffic on the AZBilliards forums. One long-running thread looking for a plain, unmarked example noted the model has enough of a following that owners hold onto them for years, with the community quoting used prices in the low hundreds of dollars depending on age and condition. A separate discussion had one collector say they wished Meucci still made full-splice sneaky petes, an all-wood build without a composite butt section, and another poster clarified that Meucci still builds sneaky pete models today, just not in that older full-splice style. That lines up with the plain, wood-forward builds we carry now, MESPN and MESPW in particular.
For the rest of the catalog, see the Meucci Pool Cues category, or browse Pool Cues for every brand we carry.
It describes a cue built to look plain, without flashy inlays, so it doesn't stand out as a dedicated playing cue. Meucci's MESPN, for example, has no wrap and a simple rosewood-and-maple build.
Two of our four Sneaky Pete cues use the 12.50mm Classic Wood Pro Shaft, and two use Meucci's Carbon Fiber Pro shaft.
All four Sneaky Pete cues we carry use Meucci's 5/16x18 wood-to-wood joint.
A Limited 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty against manufacturing defects from the date of purchase, for the original purchaser only, excluding normal wear parts like the tip and wrap.
No. All four Sneaky Pete cues we carry go without a wrap, leaving the maple forearm or a painted finish exposed under the grip hand, which is the defining look of a sneaky pete build.
